According to the guidance, non EEA family members who are visa nationals should apply for an EEA family permit , whereas non visa nationals can enter for 6 months visa free. However, if non visa nationals decides to join or accompany their EEA family member in the UK, for longer than 6 months they should apply for an EEA family permit.
If for example, the EEA family member goes to the UK to exercise treaty rights for a period of less than 6 months and the non EEA family member(non visa national) decides to join the EEA family member, and wish to work during the time the EEA family member will be exercising his/her treaty rights in the UK, should they apply for an EEA family permit before entering the UK?
