Very Confused PLEASE HELP! spouse from pakistan

Post by griddler » Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:04 pm

Hi everyone

Basically i am confused on my payslips well i have been working for the same company since January 2011

I have a P60 that shows 20k for the year of 2011/2012 but since October 2012 till January 2013 I was not working

as I was waiting for the job transfer to take place to a new location
so since January 10 2012 i have been working again

I have 43 payslips that show 18100 but short of 52 payslips so my question is if I send my old P60 whats the chance of my spouse getting the visa? as they should see i been working for same company Royal Mail since january 2011 with a 2 month break

So Please help and tell me what you people think as I am very confused
Jazakallah

You have two options to try and show your income ...

a) If you have been working for the same employer for MORE than 6 months - just show the last 6 months payslips. BUT the income will be taken as the lowest point in those 6 months.

I don't think you can show this option because of the break in employment (assuming your contract actually ended and you've started a new one)

or b) You show the last payslips over the last 12 months. In this case - the income must total over £18,600. So the question for you is - do the payslips over the last 12 months show you earning over that amount?

Yes 12 months its 52 payslips but i only got 43 so dont they take that into consideration that i have been working since 2011 and earned over 20k in that tax year??

Also how about ebay income that comes in can that be shown as an income?

Thanks

No - they only look at the last 12 calendar months (Unless you're self employed).

Ebay income won't be counted unless you are officially trading - which means registering as self employed ... paying the right NICs ... declaring all that income to the tax man etc.

Thanks for the reply

So far my situation doesnt seem good to me just wanted to know i have also done some jobs that were paid by cash in hand so if i get a letter from the employers who paid me cash in hand stating i worked there etc would that suffice??? Along with my royal mail pay slips

Thanks

The requirement of the evidence requires payslips.

Cash in hand suggests no tax was paid on the employment as otherwise you would have been given a payslip with appropriate tax deductions and then a P60 at the end of your service.

So - either a) you were self employed and failed to declare the income or b) you had other income which you haven't declared.

Either way - I don't think you want to admit that to a government agency.

My current payslips add up to 18100 how much savings would I need and idea?

The formula for savings to make up the shortfall is: 16000 + (shortfall * 2.5)

So in your case - that's £17,250.

Those savings will have needed to be held in an account in either of your names for 6 months prior to the application.

Assuming you don't already have this - I would suggest your best option is to wait until you have 6 months continuous employment history and payslips.
