If you have a long term relationship, and you have a documentary trail to prove it, then under EU law you can move with your partner to Sweden. You do not need to be married. (See http://eumovement.wordpress.com/info-sweden/ for EU information from the Swedish immigration people).internationalally wrote:I am American (and currently living/working with correct visa in Germany). My boyfriend is Dutch (also living/working in Germany). We have been living together for 2.5 years.
We would like to move to Sweden, he has a job and I do not.
I would not get a tourist visa, as you are no tourist. You are the partner of an EU citizen and should get settled (and used to white food) and then get a Residence Card. As partner of an EU citizen (who is exercising treaty rights) you also have the right to work.internationalally wrote:If I understand correctly I am not able to obtain a work visa while on my tourist visa in Sweden (as you can in Germany)? Correct?
