Childs visa

Post by Stu72 » Wed Nov 20, 2013 9:29 pm

Hello there,
I am looking for some advice here, if possible, please. My wife & I are applying for the appropriate visa to come over here. We have a son who was born in June. I believe though that he doesn't need a visa because he has dual nationality until his 18th birthday. Would we be able to bring him into the country without a visa? If so is there any documentation we should require first, or would we need to get a visa for him?
Thank you

Can you give more details?

What dual nationalities has he got and why?
Which country would you like to bring him into without a visa?

Sorry aboout that.
I am British, my wife is Kenyan. He was born in Kenya & they both are coming over to Britain to be with me. He has a Kenyan passport already but I was told to find out about him coming in to Britain on dual nationality. Then we won't have to pay for his visa......saving us £850!!

Were you British otherwise than by descent at the time of his birth?

Then child is automatically a British citizen by descent (2(1)(a)).

May apply for a British passport.
