Visa partner in different city

Post by ahsanhoney123 » Thu Dec 05, 2013 10:20 pm

Hi All,

I really appreciate all the support this forum has provided me in the past and at present.

I really need your support again.

I am thinking of applying my enterprenuer visa with another partner. I live in London and he lives in Leeds.

He has registered a business already with only his name as a Director. If we decide then I will register as a Director of his company and show that we both will run this business. The business meets NQF Level 4 - SOC 2010 - 3537 'Financial and accounting technicians'.

We both have Accounting degrees from UK and I am also part-qualified ACCA with over 2 years UK finance/accounts experience.

The question I have is that 'is it a problem if we both apply together while living in different cities and mention this in our cover letter that I will move to Leeds once visa is granted'.

Did anyone applied like this or heard if this can create complication assuming everything else in the application is fine?

Really appreciate if someone can share their experience to help me out.

Thanks in anticipation

being serious guys i dont think its a good idea. if u look at the silliness of ukba then u should avoid any contradiction. and its gonna be tough as well to prove that how u manage to work being that far even tho u can. so my suggestion is change your address and then wait for few months to get bank statements and then apply.

@ ahsanhoney123, I think that as long as the business is registered at a single address, your residential addresses shouldn't be a problem.

Make sure that all business documents carry the same address.

Hi Olasunkanmi,

Thanks for the reply.

Is there a reference in the UKBA rules to say that 'two partners in different cities is not a problem' for this visa application?

Thanks

hiya.

1st of all I never recommend to apply 2 different cities but if we think like professional we can apply coz many people permanently live in different city and doing job in different city. like from my city many people go to other city for job so in professional way its not a problem but I'll say again don't do that coz UKBA always looks some silly point. Good Luck

@ ahsanhoney123,

''Is there a reference in the UKBA rules to say that 'two partners in different cities is not a problem' for this visa application?''

Just as Home Office did not state that female and male can't be team members, same applies to addresses. Its a standard business practices for some partners to live at different addresses and this does not have anything to do with Home Office laws.

But, for the purpose of Tier 1 entrepreneur visa, your type of business is very important to decide if distance will affect your job or not. Take for example, an IT consultant or website designer can work from anywhere in UK.

Hi Olasunkanmi

Do you mean to say that male and female can not become partners for Tier 1 Entrepreneur visa purposes?

Do you think NQF Level 4 - SOC 2010 - 3537 'Financial and accounting technicians' can be considered as working remotely from different cities? Who can judge this? Do you think if UKBA refuses on this basis, we can easily win this in appeal?

Thanks for your support.

The meaning of my statement is that Home Office don't tell people what to do in everything. People need to know basic stuffs,

You need to see the possibility of working from different cities from your own perspective as you are the one putting up the business plans, and if its possible, Home Office can't refuse you base on that. But who knows what Home Office can do nowadays. Just make sure your plans are possible.
