Tier 2 holder spouse applying as a dependant on citizen?

Hi All,

I am currently on a Tier 2 work sponsored visa. My husband is on his ILR and due to apply for his passport in April 2014. On his application for the passport, can I apply as a dependant? Or is it better to apply as his dependant after he has received the passport?

No difference.

However, there is no requirement to switch. Moreover, switching to FLR(M) will make you ineligible for ILR under the Tier 2 category, if you qualify. It will reset your qualifying period under SET(M).

Therefore, if you choose to switch, then sooner may be better than later.

Just to confirm..that also means that I can apply from within the UK and don't need entry clearance from India?
