Tier 2 ICT Extension

Post by pjohn » Thu Feb 27, 2014 12:11 pm

Hi all,

Hoping for some insight/assistance as to my question below.

I was issued an T2 ICT Long Term in Sept 13 which expires in May 14. During the application process a 3yr term was requested, but only 7mths issued. As I now have to apply for an extension, are full fee's still payable? Has anyone had any previous experience with this? My employer when applying for the initial CoS was only able to obtain one for 7mths even though rated A and listed as a Tier 2 ICT Long term provider.

We can't understand why the visa was only issued for such a short period and why we may now have to pay the full extension fee's.

Appreciate any help

check what your sponsor put in your CoS as the work end date - could they have made a mistake? If UKBA made a mistake that can be corrected.

The rule is that T2 ICT LTS entry clearances are issued for 3 years + 1 month, or the period given in the CoS + 1 month, whichever the shorter

Thanks for your reply manci.

My employer was only able to input a max end date of May 14. When in the CoS system, that was for some reason the limit that had been placed. Have you heard of something like that occurring previously?

A wrong work end date was put in your CoS therefore it wasn't UKBA's fault that you only got leave for 8 months.

If your sponsor was unable to use the SMS properly they should have asked UKBA for help at the time. It is too late for that now, you'll just have to apply for an extension with a new CoS. Normal fees will be payable both for the CoS and your application.

I was not implying that it was UKBA's 'fault'. I was simply asking for guidance to how the issue may have occurred, which you have now somewhat assisted in answering.
