Some notes:
I used my original NARIC certificates from the end of 2018. NARIC has since been renamed to ECCTIS, but the original NARIC certificates are still valid for the application - there is no need to get re verified to ECCTIS at an additional expense.

Biometrics done at the Wandsworth centre and the process was done end to end in less than 15 minutes.

Citizenship ceremony booked at Kensington and Chelsea - Earliest appointments available were only two weeks away, and they are always Tuesdays. (I chose one four weeks away because I had to plan time off with work).

Received am email today from MMST Workflow to say my application will take more than 6 months.

Not sure why it is taking that long. I can only be patient and wish it is sorted soon.

Based on SAR it would seem that they judge this on application date. However, as this now puts me at six months, I have not received any communication to say that my application cannot be processed in the average time frame...

Received an email from Further Nationality Enquiries at 27 weeks following my request of a detailed SAR (after receiving basic SAR), and an email to Citizenship Support, stating that my application is in process and the caseworking team would be made aware of my outreach, but that my application cannot be completed in six months due to ongoing enquiries.

FWIW, email also states that they intend to decide cases six months from application date (not biometrics), so indeed I am now at 28 weeks.

After submitting biometrics on 24th Jan, I received reminder mail from <NationalityBiometrics@homeoffice.gov.uk> to book appointment for biometric with TLS, so I forwarded TLS confirmation mail (of 7th Jan biometric). On March 26th received following reply from <NationalityBiometrics@homeoffice.gov.uk> "It appears that the previous email was send to you in error. I can confirm that now we have received your biometric information, so you do not need to enrol your biometric again. I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. At present there is no requirement for you to provide any additional information. Your application will be sent queue shortly to await consideration by a caseworker, you will be notified of the outcome in due course. "

And there was no update, So, on 25th April, I requested update on my application, and received following reply "Thank you for contacting Further Nationality Enquiries. We are unable to locate any application from the information you have provided, please can you provide the following information: Full name, Date of birth, Nationality, Address, Details of your enquiry, Any Home office reference number, Date and how the application was submitted. On the same day (28/04) I replied with the details requested. Still waiting for update.

Can anyone opine this regard - shall I wait until July 7th (6 months from date of biometrics) or ......kindly advise. Thank you all.
