I paid £55 for NCS. I got my Passport, biometric card and Degree certificate back on the same day. And it only took 15mins for all service. Now, it feels like I paid £55 to keep my ILR. Does anyone know if I would have got the Biometric card back if I had posted the application to Home Office myself? Somebody else could save £55 if HO returns the biometric card back to the applicant..

Other Updates: 29/11/2014 - received letter asking for further information. At NCS, was advised that as my UK husband's passport had expired therefore could not be used. So asked to apply based on residence. Letter today asking for my husband's birth certificate and current passport plus evidence of residence of a certain period of time (worked out asking for 5 years ago Sept 2009 until April 2011 when I went on holiday to Malta as my passport was not stamped properly).
Have emailed to query acceptance of husband's passport expired 2012 prior to posting. Advised in email that NCS would not copy husband's passport due to being expired.
