Looks like HO started august application now. But I'm still waiting for mine from 8th of July. I thought it will be a quick process as my application was straight forward but it taking longer than ILR application. Really disappointed with their service.

Finally an update on my application after 2 weeks of anxious wait as i did not know whether my app was lost by Royal mail or received by HO as RM website did not give update about delivery and even my council thought the app was lost.
I haven't got an acknowledgement letter/email yet but money has been taken from my cc on 27/10/2014. Atleast that confirms that HO did receive my app.

Once it becomes the 6 month minimum period you need to contact the Home Office call centre and you will be given the contact details for your case worker.

Everyday seems to be an agonising wait! Is anyone else in a similar situation?

I sent a letter to HO but no reply!

According to the Home Office and solicitor once it has been six months you need to phone the Home Office and they will give you an address to write to. This will be your case worker and they are bound to give you notification as to where you application is and other useful information. Get the address, write and keep on pestering them. Otherwise contact your MP and they will respond.

This is ridiculous, I don't understand why they are so lazy and take this long to decide naturalisation applications. Surely most of the checks are done at the time of ILR so naturalisation shouls be straightforward. After doing same day ILR appointment I know if they wanted to they can decide an application in less than 90 minutes. Why it takes them 6 months or more by post for any sort of application, mind boggles. I guess you can just wait n watch and hope for the best.
Good luck

All this applications are based on the type of stay the person had.
I have noticed marriage applicants get the decisions very fast,
Then 5yrs workpermit get decisons second after marriage.

10 yrs Applicants seems are the last ones to get naturalisation...how unfair... :(
I'm spouse of a BC I'm waiting for the decision As it been 3.5 months. I have seen so many people applied after me got their approval already. So I don't think all the marriage applicants get the result quickly. I think it depends on ur luck completely. Cos the case worker pick random application rather than pickin them up in a order.
You have a point. I see that the average time from approval date to receiving the letter is approx 9 days. Why does this take so long to send back?

I am with you on this one. I spoke with the Home Office again today and was told the same old 'still under review' story. I was also told that each application is treaded differently solely dependant on the different type ie marriage, tier, ancestral etc. I have three weeks before the 6 month period and have been here for over 12 years now.

How long have you been waiting for? You seem to be waiting very patiently but I guess that is the only thing we can do. Good luck and let us know once you hear anything.
