Obviously being married to british citizen is a much more straightforward application, hence it took less time..but that's just my opinion

Congratulations. Ur very lucky to have it quick as we can see other applicants waiting more than that. I applied week before U but still no news. I was expecting the news after 3 months at least but now got the hope back again to get it earlier . In shaa Allah I'll get mine soon.

Eligibility criteria: EEA National - PR holder, Spouse of British Citizen
Language criteria met: ESOL Skills for Life & Life in The UK test
Current nationality: Polish
Method of application: NCS
Council name if NCS used: Camden
Date of application: 02 May 2014
Payment method: Debit Card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 06 May 2014
Date of acknowledgement: mid May 2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: late May 2014
Date approval received: 29 August 2014, letter dated 18 August 2014
Date of ceremony: To be booked.

This was a straight forward application according to the lady at Camden. My advice to EEA nationals would be to take the time to get PR first and then it simplifies the further process. Thanks for all the information provided in this forum. This is a great service. To those waiting - as difficult as it is - just realise that it might take 4-5 months to get a response at their current rate of processing.

Phoned the Home Office this morning and spoke to a very polite gentleman who assured me that my application was still on-going and can take up to six months. He also said that it may be shorter.

Although this is not what I wanted to hear I was really surprised how quick you can speak with someone.

Crossing all fingers and toes that it won’t be much longer.

I applied for naturalisation which was received on the 16/05/2014 and my query relates to the amount of time taken to process an application. I had a driving conviction back in 2008 which is spent but declared this on the application form. Would this delay the application? It has also been 16 weeks and advised it can take 2 to 6 month for an answer, is this right? Little concerned as I have not heard anything, any help relating to this would be appreciated.
Update.

Looking at the acknowledgement letter the Home Office advises not to phone to check on the status of your application. It is coming up to the three month waiting mark and not heard back from them and therefore contemplating on phoning.

Reading other posts in where people have called up the application seems to be processed soon after.

Can anyone confirm if calling the Home Office is a good idea?

Quick Question:

I have a CCJ that was issued to me in 09/2009 about a parking ticket and just detected that about 8 months ago when I wanted to send my application in. I was told by the council agent that I should try and get that paid or settled. Even though I was not the one driving the car at that time, I was the registered keeper of the car thus why my name was on the CCJ. I have called the court Northampton CCBC to enquire further and was told to contact the company that issued the PCN. I got in touch with the company and was told that the parking company does not exist anymore and they could only find the car registration number and nothing more so they are unable to take payments. It was £164 for the CCJ. Since the court and the defunct parking company are unable to take payments and I am in the middle of this mess, the Council agent called the home office and enquire more about and she asked me to send it and put note about it. I have also contacted the court again and was told to write to mcol@hmtcs.gsi.gov.uk to put the file before a district judge. Even though it will be 6 years next year to be written off, I am a little bit worried LOL. Does any one have any experience about this kind of issues or something close. Advice welcome.

Cheers

It does seem like anybody who has applied in later part of May 14 has been waiting longer than usual 5/6 weeks time, I called HO and was told that its in progress

I'm in the same boat. Applied on the 15th May and still waiting! I figure the holidays probably delay the process by a few weeks :(
