Have been having some trouble getting any information on the status of my application. I wrote to
FurtherNationalityEnquiries@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk asking if my application had been assigned to a caseworker and if so, if they anticipated needing any further documents. (I travel a lot for work and was worried about the 3 week response time). I got the following (unhelpful) response.
Thank you for your enquiry.
Unfortunately we can only confirm that currently the application is ongoing as it has not yet reached the 6 month stage of consideration. We will contact you as soon as a decision has been made or if we require further information.
All applications for citizenship are subject to enquiries to ensure that the statutory requirements have been satisfied. Because of these enquires, we anticipate that applications may take up to six months to complete. Some applications may be dealt with more quickly and some may take longer, depending on the nature of the enquiries to be carried out. Our service standards set out how quickly we aim to decide applications for British citizenship. The standard is that we will decide 95% of applications within six months.
I then tried the 0300 number but "because of high call volumes" they're not accepting any calls for citizenship applications?
Is anyone else having the same experience? Also, has anyone been rejected? I've had some awful experiences with the Home Office.
