Ive been waiting since 1st of June mate. Called several times. A very straightforward case. Its reached a dont care anyome stage. 10 months now. Trust me, even after the 6 months timeline things don't change much in regards to communication and there is nothing you can do. The MP way is a farce as they don't want to get involved in the manner you think.

I called today to check the guy on the phone said the last update they have was on 26/02/2014 but would not tell me anything else except that he does not think it will take much longer!!!

Incalled again today and the lady on the line said that my wife's application has not yet been alocated toma case worker. I dont know what to say. I am tempted tomcontact my MP but i ak still within 6 month standard service.

I called again on Friday last week they said the application is with the processing team, they did not tell me if someone actually looking at it. My mp wrote to me and said these applications take time just wait, and if you dont hear from them by the autumn let me know. well by the autumn its well out of the 6 months standards.
