Looking at coolnattu's timelines, it seems to me that NCS applications are given priority over Postal, followed by Solicitors. I wonder why...

I called up the local Nationality Checking Service and the kind lady on the phone told me there was/is a huge backlog due to sheer number of citizenship applications. In my borough alone the applications via NCS were (apparently) 30,000!

Hi gamalin,
Is there a typo in your timeline? It doesn't look right that you could have applied on Nov 1st and the HO didn't receive it until Dec 19th.

They are mentioning I need to provide that pass result doc AND "a speaking and listening qualification in English at B1 CEFR or higher".
I suppose these are the new requirements after 28-Oct-2013.
I have read through other forum chains and found out some information about point based calculations etc etc
Have any of you (Nov-2013 applicants) had to provide such docs and what have you provided?? I don't see any such mention in your posts on this timelines topic so am worried ...

Not to divert the purpose of this topic, so please point me to the link(s) to where you folks have been discussing about this.

Very sorry to hear that, indeed it is KOLL,

You need to submit proof of "a speaking and listening qualification in English at B1 CEFR or higher", there are many posts on the forun related to that. Infact Nov-2013 timeline thread has a column asking how applicant satisfied (Language criteria met (UK degree, exempt countries, PBS used documents, NARIC, or B1 test) )

Being an Indian passport holder, you are not from exempt countries, Do you have UK Degree? If not, have you satisfied this requirement during your initial application like (HSMP/Tier1G/Tier2G)? If not, have you taken any B1 test? they are asking proof of one of these.

Eligibility criteria: 3 year Spouse of a BC
Method of application: NCS - Newcastle Upon Tyne
Date of application: 29.11.13
Payment method: DC
Date of receipt by UKBA: ?
Date of acknowledgement: 21/01/2014 (dated 16/01/2014)
Date of debit or clearance of fees: Card Declined!
Date approval received:
Date of ceremony:

I am extremely annoyed as I have triple checked the card number, expiry date etc. and my wife scrutinised everything before the final submission. I have got enough money to cover the fees since November and I have informed my bank that a huge amount could be request within next two months by the Home Office…so why it was DECLINED???

Has anyone been in this situation before? Where should I re-send my payment details to as the letter is not very clear! Can I send a letter asking them to make up the time lost as it's most probably a fault on their part. Now I have to spend money for another recorded delivery, not that it will break my bank but I have done everything by the book and this sort of negligence really makes me to question their level of professionalism.[/quote]

Just spoken to the bank…no, no request as such in the past 14 days.
