Hi fulcrum1978,

I believe from your timeline that your application received the UKBA on Oct 24th. We've had 24 people in total so far posting on this forum that their applications were received on the 24th or 25th and none of them have had their fees debited yet. So your situation is 'normal', no need to worry yet. I think you can forget about 'typical' timelines at the moment due to the huge number of applications in October. Looking at other people's timelines who applied at the same time as you is a much better guide.

Hi,

Can you share the email address that you corresponded through. The nationalityenquiries email has the same canned presentation "text" for all correspondence. I also worry that maybe the acknowledgement is delayed due to inability of UKBA to collect the fees as mentioned by you.
Please share some details of how you corresponded and with whom, so the rest of us (who doubt payment collection as a reason) can follow up.

So far I havent received an Acknowledgement even after 6 weeks (as stated in the nationality enquiry email) and am still waiting.

I sincerely hope that still the delay is due to volume and not fee collection issue.

Just to mention what happened to my application which I hope will help some people.
I applied on 12/10/13. 5 or 6 weeks passed and there was no debit of fees from my account. Understandably I got worried and emailed UKBA. The first response was a very standard I guess 'Having checked our records there is no decision yet on your case'. My question however was have they actually received my application or not. To which they replied asking further details like DOB, ref number and so on. I sent another email with the info that they requested. Received the email from UKBA the same day saying that they have indeed received my application but they could not withdraw any money (this is despite having enough money on the account and bank telling me that there was no attempt to withdraw money). I could not be bothered arguing and asked if there was any other means of paying rather than relying on payment slip. I was told telephone payment is ok to which I happily agreed straight away. A lady called me the same day (all of these happened within the same day) and money was deducted from my account.
Take home message:
1. if it has been a while and no fees deducted - send an email to UKBA asking if there was an attempt to withdraw money
2. If yes but failed attempt - ask UKBA to pay by phone

I believe that due to the overwhelming amount of applications made, it is likely that lots of mistakes will be made when trying to debit, it is possible that a wrong number was applied somewhere, causing the payment to fail. I applied 16/10, fees taken 9/11, I am still waiting. Good luck everyone.

There is nothing called automatic rejected its late coz the loads amount of application applied before 28/10 and they are taking the new application slowly and what we thinking it's going to go after new year for people who applied on or after 28-oct so be patient

I submitted my application over 5 weeks ago and still no debit of fees. I am away from UK for 4 weeks over the xmas / January period. I wonder what happens if HO start processing my application, and they need to get hold of me for additional information while I am away. If I don't respond within 2 weeks, does this mean that my application is automatically rejected??

Thanks. I am just worried that my application will start getting processed while I am away from xmas until mid Jan, and if the HO has a follow up query that I can't respond to within 2 weeks, this would lead to automatic rejection

It's going to be a long wait my friend your fees will not be taken before 15 January next year sorry for this what I'm say but don't check your account N don't wait I hope u get it soon

There is a November and a December section, it would be a better idea to post there, you may even find people there with similar dates as yours, good luck.
