I am a bit concerned that it has now been 8 weeks and the money was deducted on the 10th of October and I have not heard anything yet. Is this unusual ? I had emailed the Nationality email address and they told me that no decision has yet been made.

I am of the view that paying that extra £65 for NCS is better in the long run. at least you can use your original docs for something else. Also, NCS indirectly gives you the initial check that may be useful

I'm still waiting for my approval letter, I've phoned UKBA and emailed them as well, but same response. No decision has yet been made!!!

I think applications sent without using NCS service takes longer!!! I regret now, I should have sent my application via NCS so at least I could travel outside the UK!

One week ago emailed to HO they mailed back same no decision yet, just last night mailed again, but this morning documents arrived with the letter that application successful and had to wait for council ceremony date,

I applied on the 15th of October 2013. Received by UKBA on the 16th. Fees was taken on the 11th of nov. And acknowledgment was received on the 12th of nov.

Summer14, I made the same mistake thinking that I have to add the ceremony fee and the app fee. But there is nothing to worry about they debited £874 from my account. It is not going to effect your app. I have received my acknowledgment letter and hope will get the approval soon. Good luck!
