My wife's application(we are both Chinese and I decided to postpone the application):

Eligibility criteria: 5 years residence: 3y student + 1y T1 spouse + 1y ILR
Method of application: Postal Royal Mail Special delivery
Date of application: 06/08/2013
Received by UKBA: 07/08/2013
Date of debit of fees: ?
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 15/08/2013
Date of receipt of approval: 27/08/2013
Date of Ceremony:

Superfast. My wife is a doctor and two references are both professors I think this might be helpful for consideration. My colleague submitted through Edinburgh NCS more than 2 months ago but still waiting.

One problem is UKBA didn't use my SD envelope! Wasting me £6+ and there's risk of losing the passport

Just an update on my timeline. I have received the approval letter from UKBA today and it is dated 21/08/2013. I also changed the ceremony date to September 11th.

Date - 16th July 2013

NCS fees - 110 £ - Paid while booking the appointment

HO Fees - 2223 £

HO Fees Deducted - 19th July 2013

Acknowledgement Recd - 25th July 2013

Citizenship Confirmation Printed - 16th Aug 2013

Citizenship Confirmation Recvd- 30th Aug 2013

Ceremony date - 5th Sep 2013

I applied 17th june through NCS merton. I got the invitation letter on 24th aug with approval dated 17 july. I called council today and they haven't recieved the certificate yet so can't book the ceremony

. do you know how long it will take for council to receive certificate?

Send an email on this email address nationalityprogress@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk and ask them the progress of your application, also contact your local MP and ask him / her to ask home office about your applications status. Hope this helps.

Person we are on the same boat, I applied exactly on the same date 17/06/2013 from NCS Dudley Council. Received by UKBA 18-06-13 and Debt of fees 19-06-13 acknowledgement received 23rd June.

Lets see when we get our approval.
