My husband's application.

Eligibility criteria : 2 year marriage visa, ILR, 3 years residence in the UK
Method of application : By post from Glasgow
Date of application : 10 June 2013
Date of receipt by UKBA : 11 June 2013
Date of debit of fee : 14 June 2013
Date acknowledged : 15 June 2013 (dated 13 June)
Date of approval : 1st July (dated June 27)
Date of Ceremony : 21st August, 2013

Received Citizenship Invitation from UK Border Agency on Monday 8th July but this was dated 28th June. Not sure why they send things by 2nd class post! By the time I got around to calling the council yesterday they had actually sent us an invitation for 21st August. They put a note in saying that they have a ceremony this Friday 12th July and that would have been great but unfortunately too short notice for us to arrange time off work. Suppose we should be grateful that it's all been approved so quickly! :D

Well I received the Approval Letter dated 8th July 2013. On the approval letter its stating that my application was successful and i will shortly receive letter inviting me to attend a citizenship ceremony.

Does this letter take long time to come? My local council send this invitation letter? As its telling on letter that i should not be phoning my local council until i receive my letter.

Kind Regards

Congrats you got lucky with the driving offences, the invitation is usually with in a weeks time period.

Still waiting on the application from April. I saw April applicants started recieving their approvals so hope its getting close.

But I am surprised at the system that June applications are dealt before April, complete nonsense!

Contact them in E-mail Below
NationalityProgress@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

First they send you an auto reply with a disclaimer saying you may not get a response if application is less than 6 months old.

However, they replied to my email after 3 days.

Make sure to give them your home office reference number from the acknowledgement letter, your full name, date of birth, address, and nationality.
