I've just received one letter. The subject of the letter is "Citizenship Invitation". The first line of the letter starts with" I'm please to tell you that application has been approved.....".

Very quick!

Eligibility criteria: Fiancee (6 months) / Spouse (2 years) / ILR (6 months)
Method of application: Post (special delivery)
Date of Application: 2/7/2013
Date of debit of fees: 5/7/2013
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 10/7/2013 (Dated 5/7/2013)
Date of approval: 12/7/2013 (received 16/7/2013)

Two weeks exactly since sent it - now waiting for the invitation!

The documents and approval letter were sent back in our self-addressed special delivery envelope. We have a theory about this - make sure you buy the A4 size envelope. Sounds silly, but they might be reluctant to fold your documents or letters, which might be why some people get their stuff back 2nd class despite including a SD envelope.

Approval letters

Post by beebritish » Tue Jul 16, 2013 9:28 am

Hi - question for those who already received their approval letters. Did the letter arrive back together with the docs you sent in the special delivery envelope you sent with your application or separately? Thanks.

Eligibility criteria: EEA 5 +1 yrs (Didn't apply for PR card)
Method of application: NCS 'Newbury' (excellent service)
Date of receipt by UKBA: 25/06/2013
Date of debit of fees: 27/06/2013
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: (on the letter 26/06/2013)
Date of receipt of approval: 13/07/2013 (date on letter: 05/07/2013)
Date of Ceremony: 24/07/2013

From acknowledgment (26/06) to approval (05/07) was 8 WORKING DAYS!! I'm so happy and I would have never thought they would approve so fast!

I showed the minimum amount of papers. Between 2007 and 2010 just employment and between 2010 and 2013 both several employments and self employment. For self employment and employment I only showed the summary made by HMRC with company details start and end dates and how much I earned and paid + HMRC paper stating when I started self-employment and all years I've been self employed+that I'm still self -employed and employed. No other details provided in relation to self employment: no receipts/invoices, website, etc. So HMRC papers are taken in very high consideration.
Nothing else also in relation to my addresses. As the HMRC paper includes the companies number, it seems they don't need proof of address.
Just filled the form, added the HMRC paper, passport, life in the uk test (original) and got this record fast approval.

I really recommend NCS as they are very good at helping + you'll keep the documents. Newbury was first class!
All of you waiting for approval, be patient and don't worry too much.

Sending a special delivery envelope after app submission

Post by ajax » Fri Jul 12, 2013 9:11 pm

I applied early this month and didn't include a special-delviery envelope with my application. I received my acknowledgement letter this morning. Is it worth sending a self-addressed special delivery envelope to the naturalisation team now and asking them to send the outcome in this envelope, or should I just bear the wait? I have noticed it is taking 10-12 days for second-class post outcome letters to be sent.

I never had to wait this long for any of my past visas and ILR for that reason bit fade up. When you paid such amount of money you expect to get bit of a faster service. Well, nothing much to do except waiting 6 months.

Your views will be appreciated.
I have applied 2nd of May mate and still waiting. Did you sent them any email yet. I did and reply was this case is ongoing.
