I can perfectly understand that we are all eager to receive the approval letter but if they say 6 months, there's nothing else we can do apart from wait.
Yes my friend you are right
My one is ....
Apply through NCS Redbridge (ilford) on bases of spous of BC on 15th April 2013 recieved acknowledgment fees gone through. It's been nearly 12 weeks. But didn't get any response. I've sent email to my local MP to request about my application query because it is very simple and streight forward application not any conviction or any thing els.
I got letter few days after email from MP. Says "I've wrote to the homeoffice director urgently about your application as soon as I get more I formations I will let you know.
That is the thing we can wait only nothing els.
Arshipaki - I also applied for my spouse's application on the 20th of April 2013 via Redbridge (Barkingside) received acknowledgement in about 7 days but haven't received any response after that - do you think I should also get in touch with the MP. Case was pretty straight forward as well. Also emailed the Home Office but their reply was that the application can take up to 6 months and they can't say anything.
Yes you can. This is secoud time I contact to the MP first time when my ILR was pending for four months. I think I got it because my area MP was informing me until I recieved my all documents back with ILR stamped. And the other thing I heard that MP's have power to ask/quiry to the homeoffice coz home office department is working under the parliament.
I didnt check today's post I'm at work. Hope we will get it soon inshallah.
Yeah I know man - checking for that brown envelope in the post every day is killing me. Yea inshaAllah I am hoping that we will hear soon as hbadami applied on 19th and got the approval yesterday.!

I think I am gonna get in touch with the MP next week if I don't hear anything till Saturday.

Am hoping Postal is quicker than NCS in hope they want to return my Passport quicker with approval letter enclosed so they can save money by simply using my self address envelope :?

My approval letter came in my self addressed envelope along with my Passports. It's taken 8 working days from fee being taken.

Best Wishes everyone I think they have extra staff for the summer so hopefully everyone gets good news very soon :)
only 8 days, that's very impressive.

congratulations, do you mind if i ask what nationality have you applied as?
high risk southern african country. I think they just have more staff on now & my case was straight forward (worked for same company during ILR app, pay taxes, no convinction but I now have bad credit so was worried for that)

Simple is better if you send less documents ie don't send things you not required bills etc and make a simple application then make sure they will get their money instantly and also check you have no niggles that is you have no criminal record that is undeclared and double check or triple check your application make sure it is correctly filled before you submit it.

In summary straight forward applications that include the all above usually are processed faster regardless of type then complex ones or complicated ones will take longer but there is that one in 100 straight forward application that slips through the net and has to wait unnecessarily as the complex ones.

Congratulations. Yours took 3 months. As I am also from one of the sub continent country so I think mine will also take 3 months to decide. As I am pretty sure now some case like mine taking ages due to current nationality. Peoples who is waiting long l am sure in majority case a caseworker didnt even look the file ...I mean awaiting for caseworker or just recently allocated for caseworker. I dont know what kind of que they follow. It seems like their que classifications depends on the nationality and length of time person living uk.More longer time anyone is here, they need to stand up right behind the que at the end on a special long wait que.
Ho replied me by email a caseworker not allocated for me yet. And existing nationality does matter. Long residency including british spouse does take longer to decide. It doesnteven take 1 week for them to decide uunless they check extra check. But no one check anything before a case allocated for caseworker. I am sure people who waiting 2-6 months will get approval or decision as long ho allocate a caseworker for them.

See that you back again, congrats on your British Passport.
I guess you forgot to mention that Nationality takes account, they classify countries to low risk and high risk where Character checks need to take place.... all those people who have applied and been waiting for more than 2 months, have mentioned and declared straightforward with no niggles....It is all to do with luck of you application falling to the caseworker hands, nothing more
