All approved far quicker than we though. Only 3 weeks since we sent the application! It took 4 months last year for ILR.

All documents returned by 2nd class post, not in the the pre-paid envelope that was included! The original of the Life in the UK notification letter hasn't been returned though only the copy. Just waiting on the letter inviting us to a ceremony. Should arrive within 2 weeks.

Finally everything is done now!

OMG what a milestone, definitely one of my top 3 achievements - put my life on hold for last 2 years for this and was limited in my movments (I love to travel; and I have to travel for work also). Good to have my freedom back and now I can get back to LIVING my life

* I had traveled 157 days in the 12 months before applying and another 14 while my application was being considered (so total of 170 days). It was all for personal/holiday reasons - a career break. I explained it in my cover letter. The entire 6 years I have been in UK, I have been employed by the same company including currently. I have traveled for less than 450 days in the less 5 years. I own my home and I am single and also already an Australian citizen. I was very lucky that caseworker applied discretion in my favor

Thanks to this board for being my 'salvation' and something I could refer to when I was stressed and stressed because I was helpless and the decision was out of my control .. for the last two years (similar too much travel issues with ILR also) ... a very bad feeling. But good to have the control back.

* the ceremony in islington was very clinical. All individual and guests are ushered into a large rectangle room with chairs - so everyone sticks to their own group. Then an hour or so later all applicants are moved into ceremony room .. then their guests are seated in the back. Each person is called up to be presented their certificate while a nice 'professional' photographer takes their photo at £10 each photo. Everyone leaves .. or goes to pay for their professional photo. No interaction between guests. The ceremony today had about 35 people getting their citizenship, so quite large

Congratulations. Yours took 3 months. As I am also from one of the sub continent country so I think mine will also take 3 months to decide. As I am pretty sure now some case like mine taking ages due to current nationality. Peoples who is waiting long l am sure in majority case a caseworker didnt even look the file ...I mean awaiting for caseworker or just recently allocated for caseworker. I dont know what kind of que they follow. It seems like their que classifications depends on the nationality and length of time person living uk.More longer time anyone is here, they need to stand up right behind the que at the end on a special long wait que.

Ask them if they have sent any letters to your home other than an acknowledgement letter or if the application is still in progress.

Make sure to give your home office ref number from the acknowledgement letter, full name, date of birth, address, and nationality.

Hopefully they will reply after the automated reply. They replied in about 3 days to my email.

I have Emailed them last week and after 3 days a reply came back stating (The only information available to me is that your application has been received and is currently being processed- I cannot advise when you are likely to receive a decision)

I applied 25th April, so Guess we just going to have to Wait, wait, and wait

I dont know if others agree, but guess it also depends on your nationality and the speed they process the application !!!

I am still waiting. Mine was a really straight forward case. no hitches or issues.

It seem that there are cases that are taking upto three months. ( not sure the reason )

Alhumdulillah...received my invitation letter 2day 29/6/13 dated 24/6/13.

Earlier in the week I had emailed the UKBA asking if they had sent any letters to me other than the acknowledgement letter. I received a reply 3 days later stating that a decision had been made on the 21st of June and a letter would be arriving shortly...which I received 2day.

I really hope all those waiting get theirs soon. It sux that some March and April applicants were/are stuck In longer wait times.
