Eligibility criteria: 5yr (Tier 2) + 1yr ILR Family application: 2 adults (joint)+ 2 children (joint)
Method of application: NCS (Hampshire)
Date of submission to UKBA: 20.03.2013
Date of receipt by UKBA: 21.03.2013 (8:15am)
Date of debit of fees: 27.03.2013
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 28.03.2013 (came by email). Another letter of acknowledgement arrived by post on 03.04.2013 (dated 27.03.2013).
Date of receipt of approval: 20.04.2013 (dated 16.04.2013) - for adults only.
Date of Ceremony: ___

We are so happy! Praise God!

We received citizenship invitation for adults only, I hope we will get for the children soon. Actually I am not sure what is a procedure for children. Does anybody know?

Hi guys can anyone advise is it possible to apply for Naturalization within 15 months of date of application of ILR . i Mean for example a person apply for ILR on August 2012 and get it approved on April 2013 after 8 months of process ( where delays has happened due to no fault of him but the UKBA )

Can he apply for naturalization on November 2013

OR

he can only apply after April 2014 ( after one years of ILR approval).

If yes please give the reference or link

You could try and hope that the HO exercise that discretion but think its always safer to wait for 1 year post granting of ILR as you won't get your money back if they refused to exercise the discretion.

thanks Ijaz n superman u are right to say but there is capacity in rules for 15 months application last night I read British citizenship guidance notes it says a discretion can b exercised if the delay was no fault of applicant. Guys u do u know anyone who obtained naturalization within 15 months capacity. Plz share ur valuable experience. I can see many ilr applications delayed due to ukba so all are not and. Should suffer due to ukba

You have to wait for one year after ILR, only BC spouse can apply straight away after ILR

Finally got the Approval, and ceremony booked aswell. For all those who applied in 2012 good luck, it's not a great feeling to be waiting so long.

I got approval letter today ,I applied on 19th November 2012. And got approval letter 13th april 2013 after about four and half months. Gudluck to all waiting since last year.

It was a approval letter sent by ukba and advised to contact new ham council and book ceremony within 21 days.

Did you get a reply from ukbs via email and then the approval letter or just the approval letter.

I was in a similar situation where I received my invitation a week after I chased UKBA after waiting a couple of months, albeit my invitation letter asked me to contact council in 21 days from the date of the letter. The letter was dated 45 days before the date I actually received it. Council said the certificate is still with HO and now I have no idea whats happening.

I just got approval letter, haven't received any reply of email frm ukba.

I just got my naturalization certificate yesterday, my wife is here wid me from last three years before ,came as a dependent on sep 2009. And she got Ilr on 26 jan 2012, but now as I became British national, can she apply on 3 years residence basis spouse oF British national,I just have my nationality certificate I haven't applied for British passport yet.and do we have to send our nikkah registration of marriage which was done in Pakistan..?

I don't think it has anything to do with whether the application is sent through NCS or not. It may have to do with the fact that some councils only seem to post the applications once a week or so

Thats very quick. POSTAL applications are quickly sorting out than the NCS. I applied thru NCS on 13/03/2013. Still waiting. In shah Allah expecting my results this week.

It's all about your profile and confident and each case it's considered on its own merit..in the end you have to risk..approval it's guaranteed

What actually happened is this
I was granted ILR on 26 Feb 2013 and i do know that am suppose to wait for a year before applying for naturalization, but i just didn't bother and i decided to just try and see the outcome.

Am not surprised about the refusal.

I shall apply after 1 year of my ILR. I hope this will help others

You only can apply straight after your ILR and not wait for 12 months if you are married to a BC and can prrove you been here in the country for the last 3 years.

I tried to read the document, seems complicated.
Did you consult a Solicitor, the reason why I ask is I have friends who might qualify, so just wanted to ask on the basis of that, your help would be valuable.[/quote]
