When sending my documents to the passport office, I attached a pre-paid special delivery RM envelope. The passport office used that envelope and sent my new passport and all other documents together. That was the reason why I couldn't track the TNT number, as they never used it and used my pre-paid envelope instead.

Applied for the fast track due to medical emergency abroad. Provided all the evidences and nothing! Calling the passport office, no one knows what's happening. Was given the emergency phone number and they were talking like they are from another planet all together. Said that I should travel with my old passport, which they now hold, because I had to send them the original. Asked to return my old passport, they said they don't know where it is currently.

Cannot track TNT even after 48 hours. When called, they said it’s the passport office who hasn’t handed over them documents yet.
Also found out that in order to fast track a passport application the envelope has to say “urgent“, otherwise It will end up in the regular queue.

Please note that if you try to track your new passport, the instructions provided are not quite clear ; you need to go to https://delivery.tnt.com/tracking and then you enter your PEX reference but you have to remove 'PEX' and ALL the spaces also. In my case I stayed home to wait but the courier did not knock on my door anyway and just dropped the passport through the letterbox...
