I finally got my approval after 8 months and 2weeks. All in all this has been a whirlwind to say the least. Let me Break it down…

Replies from nationality enquires: 08/03/2023 saying “ I can confirm that your application is in the process and that decisions on applications are usually made within six months.”
Letter to my Local MP: 08/02/2023
Home office reply to my MP: “Our records show his application has not been processed within our published six-month service standard. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to complete every case within our service standard, particularly if an applicant has a complex immigration history or if further enquiries need to be made.”
My 2nd letter to my Local MP: 15/03/2023 (in this letter I specified that I still hadn’t received an update on my application and it was starting to affect my mental health so I’d appreciate it if they could help write to home office to speed up the process)

Just to let you know: My case was pretty straight forward but delayed so I incorporated an SAR inquiry application (24/03/2023) to see if my anyone had been assigned to my file.
I contacted my Mp on the same day who wrote to the HO about the delay in my case.

We have neither got a reply regarding the SAR [Subject Access Request) inquiry application nor response to my Mp inquiry but all has been sorted 2 weeks after these 2 inquiries.

Those waiting in these forums and are delayed please do the same as I did because sometimes even straight forward cases are sat upon and not dealt with promptly.

I applied for citizenship in May 2019 and got refusal because of a 3 months overstay in 2012. The home office suggested applying again in January 2023 to clear 10 years of history. I also forget to upload my reference letters online and at the time of biometrics. However, I sent both letters by e-mail and the home office did not reply. They send an approval e-mail today.
