01/11/2022 = a reply from HO: "As you may be aware, naturalisation is not an automatic process, and we have to make a number of enquiries to ensure that applicants can satisfy the statutory requirements. Some of these enquiries are carried out by external agencies on our behalf and can sometimes take longer than six months to complete."
03/01/2023 = a reply from MP "we have received a verbal update from a member of the MP Accounts Management Team at the Home Office... checks are still ongoing and that UKVI would endeavour to conclude your application as soon as operationally possible... Please do get back in touch if you experience a significant further delay in this case."

Today is 13 months since I completed the payment and started the application process. I can't put into words how upset I am. However I've seen other cases when people waited 16, 18 months without any luck... I don't know what to do - seems to be a dead end.

I finally got my approval after 8 months and 2weeks. All in all this has been a whirlwind to say the least. Let me Break it down…

My 2nd letter to my Local MP: 15/03/2023 (in this letter I specified that I still hadn’t received an update on my application and it was starting to affect my mental health so I’d appreciate it if they could help write to home office to speed up the process)

Just to let you know: My case was pretty straight forward but delayed so I incorporated an SAR inquiry application (24/03/2023) to see if my anyone had been assigned to my file.
I contacted my Mp on the same day who wrote to the HO about the delay in my case.

We have neither got a reply regarding the SAR [Subject Access Request) inquiry application nor response to my Mp inquiry but all has been sorted 2 weeks after these 2 inquiries.

Those waiting in these forums and are delayed please do the same as I did because sometimes even straight forward cases are sat upon and not dealt with promptly.
