Because my home office email arrived just before Christmas I figured it would take a while for my details to arrive at the council. So I left it a few weeks. And then even when I called they said to wait another week. And then I called again because it still wasn't available for booking, and they went looking for it, and there it was. They didn't have my email for some reason so it was NEVER going to appear on the website for online booking. Crazy stuff.

Luckily they booked me in for late Feb there and then. So: If you're at all worried about being unable to book online, my advice would be to call...!
