My time line seems similar to yours and i was really surprised. My documents were received at HMPO on 29/03 and status updated to "Processing", by 01/04 status was updated to Dispatched. I'm a little worried that it happened too quick!! My timeline so far:

Hi Kahnzy
My last post here as deleted for some unknown reason. Perhaps only certain people can post comments or questions. Nevertheless I received my passport and all my original documents back in 2 separate envelopes from the courier. They do this for security reasons. There was no tracking number provided. From the day my status changed to dispatched was about a week before both envelopes arrived here in Canada. Hope this helps and you get to read this post. Thanks and good luck!!!

Although I never received any SMS, the person who countersigned the application received a letter from Peterborough asking him to confirm the details in writing. Passport office provided 2nd class Freepost so not sure when the passport office will receive the confirmation (it was posted on 31/03/2016).

According to the website definition of the term "dispatched," it means the following (and I've copied and pasted directly from the website:

Dispatched
Your new passport has been printed and will be delivered shortly to the return address that you have given us.

So I'm not sure how long it takes from the time of it being dispatched to arriving. I was told that applications for passports usually take a minimum of 6 weeks. Its been a little over 2 weeks since I applied online and the mailed my documents over via a courier. Does anyone know if this 6 weeks means once the status changes or do online applicants who send in all the documents required have a shorter waiting time???? Thanks

Hi guys, just a quick query. I booked a holiday to travel on April 6th quite a few months back. As a student I simply can't afford to just let it go, it is quite expensive and I can't change the dates. I was made aware at my naturalisation ceremony that I will have to return my ILR immediately which I did. I applied for the passport straightaway. I was aware that most of the passports were being processed within 2 weeks. I was told this by the passport office advisors too. I have been told that its all been clear security and documentation wise and its just under examination since the 24/03/2016. Since its nearly over a week, I am starting to stress out! I called in again today and was told that they will 'upgrade' me. I was told to wait for a call from the passport office. I am still waiting for this call but I need to go back to University instead of stressing over this! Does anybody know what this upgrade is or if I can do anything at all to quicken the process? I understand the Durham office is not particularly great at processing quickly. I will really appreciate some advice.
