Few things I wanted to mention, in case it helps anyone:

1. Assuming you paid for secure delivery, don't waste your time asking HMPO for tracking numbers. Just fill in the form at DX's website asking them to search their records - they responded to me by email in a couple of hours saying it (my original documents) is out for delivery, even when HMPO said they didn't have a tracking number for me! Go figure...

2. Don't wait for invitation letter - completely pointless wait. Just use your reference number (one from post office if you used check and send). I'd say call them to book an interview as soon as you get documents back. My letter didn't even come for 5 days after I had already booked the interview.

3. Don't ask for different delivery address unless you absolutely must - it will cause delays for sure, regardless of what statements/letters you provide. See my post here.

Date on interview letter: 25/01/2016 although I never received the letter! On the 28th I tracked the application on below website using the barcode on the postoffice check and send service. Was emailed and told all had been processed and to wait for letter to arrive in the post and re-contact if not arrived in a week.
I waited,but now having gone through the process, I don't think you need to. After waiting for the letter for a week I rang 0300 222 0000 to track an existing application. Was told all was ready for me to book the interview and to ring 0300 222 1000 with the barcode on my postoffice check and send form. YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE THE LETTER TO THE INTERVIEW, and apparently it is common for them not to arrive.
