I have submitted my first adult passport application on 13/01/16.
The question is how do I track this aplication from now on ?
I ser a lot of people seing their application "has been received". How do you know that ?
Thanks
Hi Henry, Please use the right link depending on online or paper form: https://www.gov.uk/track-passport-application
If you submit your details regarding paper application and you query in the notes, you will get a reply within a day usually.
You can also call the Advice line : 0300 222 0000. They are generally helpful, though they may ask you to spell your name, address, etc. a number of times. Have patience with them!
Yes, there is. pilot scheme available at a limited number of councils. See http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... 98846.html.rajsuccess wrote:Hello - Can you apply for naturalisation and passport together? I thought they were two separate sequential steps!!
This question may appear strange, but did you by any chance enter your mobile number in the mobile number field in the passport application form that you submitted? If you did, then that may explain the reason why you received two biometric enrolment letters. This is what the NCS advisor told me when I applied for both naturalisation and passport together last year. They gave me specific instructions to enter the mobile number under section 8 (additional info) instead of the mobile number field in the passport application form, and explained that this was to avoid receiving two biometric letters. I suspect this may have to do with the procedure the HO/HMPO have setup for processing pilot scheme AN and passport applications.Wfshah wrote:CR001 wrote:You don't do biometrics for passport applications.Wfshah wrote:Date of application 12/1/2016

My question is no1 on here mentioned about it? Did any1 else recieved letter for biometrics as well??
Are you sure? Thats really strange then? As i have applied for both naturalisation and passport together , as this being my first adult passport through spouse visa route, and i applied through nationality checking services
And i got letter to submit my biometrics within 15 days?

How did you confirm that your application was received on the 7/1/2016. I sent my application through Post office check and send. I filled the form for tracking application but havent heard anything back from them.
Fay
The letter for biometrics is for the naturalisation application. All applicants have to do biometrics for naturalisation applications. If you do the two applications separately, you will still get a biometric letter for naturalisation but you won't get one for passport application.Wfshah wrote:CR001 wrote:You don't do biometrics for passport applications.Wfshah wrote:Date of application 12/1/2016

You may or may not get a letter because when i called them up for ABI (Authentication by Identification -Interview) status , at 0300 222 0000 choosing option for progress, they said they have stopped or reduced sending letters and asked me to check a couple of times in a week if I have got passed the ABI status. They would then give the reference number by phone and also email you the reference number as a confirmation. You would have to use this email and the reference number in it to book your appointment by calling 0300 222 1000. I hope this helpsrajsuccess wrote:Updates:
Having looked at other users comment here about making an interview appointment without the letter, I attempted to book one this morning. First I called up the passport adviceline to check the progress of the application. He said an interview letter is on its way. Then I called the interview helpline (0300 222 1000) to check if I can book interview appointment. The lady asked if I have received the letter and I honestly replied no. She said without the letter she cannot book an interview. So need to waiting for the letter now!
Just a call back from them and was able to book an interview for Monday the 18th.missy_86 wrote:This is the second day I am calling to schedule and interview and their system is down... Hopefully wouldn't be much longer, just want to book it and get over this lengthy expensive process.
