British Passport application processing timelines (only)

Hi all,

Hope some body help me with these questions. I am sorry to put the question here.

Can be the counter signature be done by my neighbor who owns one of premier convenience store. or can it be done by my friend who is also a software engineer.

And second question is can the counter signature date can be before ceremony date.

Date of return the documents: 27/10/15 ( I had to call DX Courier on 26/10/2015 for to re arrange the delivery date as they left 2 calling cards on Sunday the 25/10/15. Than they delivered both my documents and passport at the same time)

there is no requirement, in either British law or regulation, that requires British citizens to use a British passport to enter the UK. All that is required is that the documentation presented be adequate for the purpose and duration of the visit. (This is in contradistinction to the situation in some other countries, e.g. the USA, Australia, that do require their citizens to use the passport of the country to enter.)

If you entered on a non-British passport intending to stay for a short time as a visitor, that is fine. And as a British citizen, you can subsequently change your mind and stay on.

This may seem a strange question but I have just been granted citizenship but had my ceremony.

Does anyone know if I can still travel on my Australian passport and enter the UK with my BRP?

I rang to passport office today amd lady told me to put covet note for urgent need travel and also she said if post office will ask why you sending this and you tell them passport office staff told me to right cover latter also thanks

I am pleased the my 14 year UK immigration journey is finally over. My British Passport just arrived in the post and I just can't stop looking at it. I feels like a dream. I can't even name the emotion I am feeling right now. It just feels weird. I hope this post will help someone regarding the timelines. My passport arrived exactly two weeks after making the application at a local post office.

I am going to apply my first adult passport tommrow from check and send service cab I put covering letter with my application to need passport before 24th November. .becouse I have to attend my sister weeding so will this latter help to get interview soon

Hey, the Check and send people will tell you that it will take 4-6 weeks to get the passport but as you can see from the recent timelines, most people are getting it back within 2-3 weeks. I think there is a fair chance that yours will follow this trend too. I don't know if they will let you add a cover letter though but you can still prepare one all the same. All the best.

I am glad my journey is over . Made a naturalisation application on the 25th of June , got approved 11 Sept and got my passport 23 of Oct . So in total it took me 4 months .It was not an easy job but i am not complaining at all . All thanks to the Almighty and wish all the best for those waiting

I have just booked my appointment at London Globe House. The earliest possible appointment given to me was 10 days after.

My appointment was at London Globe House, too. I called them to book an appointment on 6th October and the earliest possible appointment date was 16th October.

I have applied for British passport at the same time as my citizenship application. It is a new service started in September which the HO is trying out (thanks to forum member called 'CR001' for the info!).

This is found on kent.gov.uk:

Passport application service
We are one of five pathfinder authorities offering customers a new service that allows you to apply for a passport at the same time as your citizenship application. Currently, once your citizenship application has been processed and you have attended a ceremony, you would then have to make a separate application for your passport which can take another 6 weeks. If you choose our new service you won't have to make a separate application and your passport will be sent to you after your citizenship ceremony.
