British Passport application processing timelines (only)

Called DX this morning and they confirmed that it's out for delivery...

I was planning to call Passport Office, however as you already called I would expect mine should be ready for despatch as well.

Hi Chourdhry

I think they only send letter to referee when they have doubt application form was signed by the referee before fully completed and possibly before the ceremony...i think sometimes people get it signed by countersignatory before time so they can apply for passport same day soon after the ceremony.

have you got interview letter as yet? Or they will issue your interview letter after referee reply to their letter?

I think they have doubt your countersignatory signed before ceremony.

In the letter to referee they ask for the confirmation that he has signed your application and that the application was complete when he signed it. I don't know weather they always confirm or not but for my naturalisation application my referees were never contacted. Best of luck

I don't know really, may be you are right. No I have not received any letter for interview. I think they will issue only once they complete the inquiry.

How did you guys receive notification that your application was received by IPS?

I am getting nervous as I haven't had a text or email since sending on the 27th August. I was worried about doing online as it was still in Beta, but now I wonder if I would have been better off doing it that way. I really hope it doesn't take more than 8 weeks as I have an important event I'd really like to be able to attend.

I've got quite similar timeline as you guys.

I called DX this morning and they haven't got anything for me on their system. Wondering how long it takes Passport Office to despatch the passport after sending the text? Some people got them next day (maybe their text was delayed)!

Hopefully it will come by the end of this week!

So probably Liverpool office has forwarded my application to Glassgow office for processing. The people who applied in Glassgow IPS have been getting their passports in a weeks time as we learned from posts. And I presume that Liverpool must be very busy and now they have forwarded my application to Glassgow after more than four weeks.Now I hope to receive a letter for interview soon. So with out mentioning the IPS dealing with your application will not give any idea for the time line. Just for the information of the forum members.
