office, inviting me for my passport interview on 10 June
2015 in Portsmouth. Looking very forward to it.

Applied on the same day as you and I'm still waiting for my documents and invitation.

Called up and they said they return documents normally after your British passport has been issued. A bit worried now as I'm going on holiday on the 23rd

When did you applied?

On the 26th. Spoke to a different person in the call centre who said my invitation letter was sent on friday and i should recieve my support documents today. so i should be ok.

Hi All,

I was on ILR last year (got ILR after 5years on tier 1) but i got the British citizenship and British Passport now after 1 year on ILR.

my wife is still on tier 1 dependent visa which will expire in 2017...when she will need ONE more ext on tier 1 dependent visa...to complete 5years to qualify for ILR..correct?

what are the best OPTIONS...as i am british citizen now

... should she wait till 2017 when her tier 1 dependent visa expire ...AND apply for another tier 1 dependent visa extension....???

... Or is there any other option (as I have become British citizen now )??

hi,

My wife also facing same issue, we have decided to change her surname to be mine when applied for naturalization. It clearly says on the naturalization certificate that he maiden was her old name and new name with my surname. We all applied on the same day, i have already got my interview letter and attended interview as well. When we called passport office they said there is a difference in the name in application and her current foreign passport hence they sent a letter and need to wait until we receive that. I was told that the letter was dated 6th May but we haven't received it. Can anybody help on this if you have been through this already?

It appears they have allowed the name change after reading my letter.

Hi, I have a question regarding the supporting documents for the new passport after naturalisation.

It is mentioned in the application that I need to send all uncancelled passports. I have an EU passport and also an EU identity card, and I can use both to enter the UK. Do I need to send the passport or is the ID good enough? Or is the form referring only to uncancelled british passports?

Send what they asking for ...Passport. I have the same like you and sent yesterday the application with my passport.

I just need to travel on my passport quite often within the next few months so this would delay my application for a passport until end of the year. Was trying to figure out if there is a way around it.

The rules say send passport and not ID so you have to allow yourself around 6 weeks of no travel to wait for UK passport to be issued. But given there will be a pile up of applications (new and renewals) leading to summer holidays, you may have to make a decision of applying now or later. There is a premium and fast track service but not available for first UK adult passport.
