I have got couple of questions.hope someone can answer it.

If i apply for first passport as naturalised, is there anyway i do not have to send my passport as i will be travelling in 1 month time.

For passport interview. Where do you normally have to travel to as i live in sussex.

Is there anyway i can go to passport office in london and apply for the passport on the counter for speedy service.

No you'll need to send your uncancelled passports to them, apply once you're back from your travels.

You can take the interview at any passport office in the country.

OK got my passport today. The DX Secure driver had scanned it and marked it as delivered on Monday 11/05 but only delivered it later in the week. I think they had Monday as the delivery deadline so they wanted to get around that. I'm guessing they only delivered it on Tuesday 12/05. All of their tracking system said it was delivered on Monday 11/05. Not the most honest courier company, ohh well...

Received a letter stating that they need a confirmation from my employer before they can send my passport/supporting docs to my work address. Would have been helpful to know this ahead of time, i now lost a week. Shocked that Check and Send have no clue about this.

What kind of confirmation Passport Office is looking for from ur employer.
I did not think/know that employment is a requirement for passport.
or is it because u want to receive ur passport n docs at ur workplace? please correct me if I am wrong

Yes, it's because I want the docs delivered to work address, not home address. They want the employer to verify that I work at this address. Not an unreasonable request, just would have been helpful to know beforehand!

You still have to send all the originals documents with your application.

Check and send is Crap and a waste of money.I also applied through check and send but there is nothing that I cant do to pay them for it.I will say best thing is to apply online and then post your docs this way you can track your application online.

My application 8th may check and send postoffice
Havent received any confirmation or letter yet sso calld them today to check they have received my App.

My wife also facing same issue, we have decided to change her surname to be mine when applied for naturalization. It clearly says on the naturalization certificate that he maiden was her old name and new name with my surname. We all applied on the same day, i have already got my interview letter and attended interview as well. When we called passport office they said there is a difference in the name in application and her current foreign passport hence they sent a letter and need to wait until we receive that. I was told that the letter was dated 6th May but we haven't received it. Can anybody help on this if you have been through this already?

It appears they have allowed the name change after reading my letter.

Mine has been 9 weeks so far...

Thats very long. Do you know the reason behind that?

Everytime I call they give me the same response, saying "My Application is undergoing Standard Security Checks". Even when I press for a more concrete answer, I get nothing. They make it seem like a 9 week processing time is normal.
Any ideas on what specific question to ask or press them on?

I am filling out passport application form but just wondered about grandparents details that need to be provided. Is this necessary even if apply through naturalisation? And do you need to provide details for both mother and fathers side or just 1.

I just provided my parent's details. Didn't gve grandparents details. Got my passport in 8 working days without any problem. I was naturalised citizen as well. So its not necessary.

Is anyone else having issues with the DX passport delivery service? Up until now the process has been smooth but now its starting to turn into a nightmare!
Interview was last wednesday (22nd) and received a text to say it was being printed the next morning and it would be delivered within the next few working days (23rd). Became concerned when it reached wednesday this week and it still had not arrived so I rang the passport office who told me to ring DX. DX gave me a reference number and told me the delivery was scheduled for today. As of now, passport is still yet to arrive, and after just getting off the phone to them I'm being told that it's scheduled for today and theres no reason it couldn't come as late as 8pm, but if no sign by 7, to ring and schedule a re delivery.
Getting a bit frustrated now because surely the delivery process is supposed to be the easiest thing!

Could you please provide the phone number for contacting DX? If you feel uncomfortable could you please PM me? I'm facing the same situation. Thanks.
