Just thought I'd update you on my experience

Application type: First adult passport (Naturalised Citizen)
Method of application: sent form by post with a first class stamp
Date of application: 07/04/15
Payment method: credit card, payment was taken from credit card on the 14/04/15
Royal mail delivery confirmation: 14/04/15
SMS confirming receipt by IPS: NA - never actually received a text. Ended up ringing up on the 13th to check on the progress of my application as I was worried it may have gotten lost in the post. Was told by the progress department it had been received on the 10th and was already in IAB.
Date of return of documents: 17/04/15 but dated the 14th
Date of receipt of interview letter: 18/04
Date of Passport Appointment: 22/04
Date of Passport printing sms receipt: 23/04 at 9:00am
Date of Passport Receipt: NA

Still no sign of passport. I was told when I went for my interview that it probably wouldn't be printed until Friday / Saturday and to not expect it to arrive until the middle of this week, however it was printed the morning after my interview so I was expecting it to have arrived by now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it arrives by tomorrow, if not I may ring just to check on it's progress.

I got two envelopes as well today from dx my new nd old passports plus naturalisation certificate which my wife rip a part in two pieces by mistake as she was exited the way she opened the envelope i knew dat something is gna happen lol anyways dont need naturalisation certificate anymore i can have it duplicate i think ...nd passport issued date is 23rd april the day i went for interview....it took only 15 days total well done passport office staff ...good luck friends ...

I received text from HM passport office today saying my passport being printed and should arrive in the next few days. So urs should be on the way as well.[/quote]

Just few minutes after i wrote my previous message my door bell rang and it was someone from dx.
He had 2 separate envelopes addressed for me.
One had my new british pp and second one had my supporting documents. I'm well chuffed as the entire process took only 6 working days and I received my pp on 7th working day.
I'm surprised that my pp came via dx as well because some people mentioned it came via royal mail and that too through the letter box without signature. I'm happy that i was home today to accept the delivery and my journey has come to an end. Good luck to everyone and my final timeline is:

I sent my application last Thursday, I just called the passport office to check if they've received it or not. The lady couldn't locate it on her system using either my post code or the check and send bar code. Is this normal? I hope they've received my application.
