First passport after naturalisation

14/6/2023 Submitted application online and identity confirmed by referee the same day. Received email from passport office to send documents (Hemel Hempstead)

15/6/2023 Documents sent by Post Office special delivery. Receipt of documents confirmed by the Post Office the next day.

20/06/2023 Passport office confirm receipt of documents

22/06/2023 Passport office request to book a routine passport interview.

23/06/2023 Phoned the booking line the next day and booked interview for the 18th July. (earliest date available) Confirmed by email from them.

23/06/2023 to 13/07/2023 Received 4 emails from the passport office to book an interview which we had already done. Contacted the passport office using online form and received a reply the next day saying they could see the interview but suggested check with the booking line again. Did this and the booking line confirmed that the interview had not been attached to the application correctly.

18/07/23 Approximately 3 hours before the interview got a phone call to say that the interview had been cancelled (permanently). Received an email a few minutes later confirming this.

20/07/2023 Passport office confirmed by email that application approved.

21/07/2023 Passport office informed that passport had been printed.

21/07/2023 Text from Post Office to say that passport would be delivered the next day.

22/07/2023 Passport received

24/07/2023 Original documents returned by post (NB had paid the extra GBP5 for special delivery but unsure if this speeded it up or not.)
