Hi guys, just to let you know, I waited 8 days before I heard back and that was the interview letter. They don't always send an acknowledgement email/ text on receipt. i also applied on the day of my ceremony

There is not need to use caps for that. People already know this from online application time line.
You could have included covering letter with your parents details along with your first application and you wouldn't have faced delay. It has already been discussed in online passport application time line thread.

quick question:

applied for my son _1 yr_registered british citizen under section 1(3)
applied for his passport on 6th feb
got the passport on 17th feb
but i sent his original registration certificate and original full uk birth certificate
i didnot recieve them yet? when will i recieve them?
i need them to apply for his OCI card to travel to india?

anybody with same problems and still waiting for original supporting docs sent to passport office

really wish I had come here before going with online application which has turned into a complete nightmare. The system is on the "please contact us" status but when I call no one really seems to know whats going on or why the alert has been triggered.

Hi all,

Just when you think the journey is over....

So basically me and my wife were both naturalised and applied for our passports on 7th Feb via Check and Send

My wife decided to add my surname to her name now. For example our names (on passports and our naturalization certificates) are STEVE SMITH and her name is JANE ROGERS. When we applied for our passport she wanted to be JANE ROGERS SMITH.

I had called Passport Office helpline in December (I have the date and time) and after having gone the whole case clearly with the agent he decided to consult a manager as this was a new one for him. Having spoken to a manager he came back and confirmed that we COULD just apply and that it would NOT be a problem. Just to clarify he did understand everything clearly as I asked him questions to check and he confirmed everything I had told him. I asked him if we needed Deed Poll and he said NO.

Now today I have had a letter from Passport Office for my wife stating that he name is different on naturalisation certificate as opposed to how it is on the form (she has added my surname on form) and that they are unable to issue the passport unless the naturalisation certificate is changed to that name first!!!

As you can imagine, this is now annoying and I am turning back to this forum (which has been my reliable partner in this journey) for advice. What can/should I do now? Seniors/Mods?

On another note, we got an acknowledgement SMS for her application but almost 10 days later still nothing for me. Called the helpline and lady said it was under process and I had been sent an interview letter already (did not get it yet).

You should first apply for passport with the same name as it appears on the registration certificate. Once you got your passport then change your name with deed poll and again apply for passport with your changed name. Don't forget to send deed poll as well with your passport application.
