I was just hoping someone could help and went through the same situation as mine since we're all applying and waiting for their passports. I could'n't find any topics that can relate to my situation that's why I posted on this thread.

Hey Guys!!! I just want to ask if there's anyone here who had there address changed during their passport application process. I had my interview last January 2,2015 in Victoria and I asked the interviewer to send the passport to my university address as I am living in accommodation.On January 7,2015 I received a letter saying that they were not satisfied about the information that I have provided and the reason of this is because of my address. They asked me to send some proof of address so I sent them my tenancy agreement and bank statement stating my address in university. I'm just wondering if theres anyone encountered the same situation as mine and I want to know how long did it take for them to change your address and actually received your passport? Im bothered because I booked a trip to Paris next Friday because I was expecting to get my passport this week. I didn't know there will be complications on the delivery address.

In case of spouse, she had applied online and paid fees. Later, we read they alway sent you a blank form to fill. We enclosed filled up paper application form too to avoid delays. It worked as they considered Paper application (Paper application number was used as reference). However, they processed application based on fees paid via online.

I guess more time is needed for 48 paged one and Christmas holidays etc. as mine took 19 days.

Hi Guys

Please can someone help me with an inquiry?

My Mother In Law is a naturalized citizen since 2008 but has never applied for an passport as she was on indefinite leave

She had to go back to India as my father in law wasn't keeping well and has been there for more than 2 yrs

She needs to comes back to the UK as my wife is expecting and when we asked UKBA for an advise we were told that she needs to apply for returning resident as she has been away from the country for more than 2 yrs

We clearly mentioned that she is a naturalized citizen but they said she still needs to apply for returning resident

We applied for Returning resident but it was refused due to insufficient documentation as we assumed that as she was in the UK for more than 8 yrs we do not have to provide a lot of documentation and was refused under Paragraph 19

I consulted a solicitor and he advised me that she can apply for a British passport straight away as she is a naturalized citizen and we applied from India for her British Passport in 1st week of Dec with the money being deducted on 11Dec

We did write a covering letter why she had to go back to India with all the doctors certificates and what she was doing for the last 2 yrs, her children passport copies all British citizens,her bank uk statements and letters from NHS that my wife is expecting in the 1st week of Feb this year and that she needs to travel urgently so can they issue the passport urgently as the UKBA has ill advised us which has resulted in waste of time and money

My question is how long do you thing it would take to issue a British Passport for overseas application and would they consider the facts that we have provided to issue the passport ASAP

Any advise will be much appreciated

All Indian national who become british national are issued oversease card. which means you can travel to india any time you like as you do not need a visa. i am not an indian but i know this from one of my house mate he is an indian.

You are legally allowed to use Indian passport for 3 months from the day you attended ceremony and received your N certificate.

Are 100% you sure about this, is there anywhere I can find this in black and white, may be on Indian embassy website or gov.uk ?

I believe what you say but just want to make sure I have everything under tap before I go for the ceremony.
