I had some issues surrounding having to change the name on my Zimbabwean passport. HMPO will not issue a new British passport in a name that is different to a foreign one.

It was a tricky process but unfortunately I was unable to change my name on my Zim passport from the UK, so I opted for renunciation of Zim citizenship. This saved me an expensive trip to Zim and means I could apply for a new British passport with no other foreign passports in another name.
