Questions I was asked during my interview on Saturday 27th September:

1. How was your journey here?
2. How did you travel here - did you find it okay?
3. What is your full name?
-Spell it
-Any past names? If yes, how come?
4. What is your date of birth?
5. What is your full address and post code
6. How long have you lived at current address?
-Who else lives with you?
7. Parents names, dates of birth, places of birth and occupations
8. Do you have any other siblings?
9. What is your current job?
-What past jobs have you held, what kind of work were you doing?
-Where did you go to university?
-What did you study, how long was that course?
-When did you graduate?
10. What is your local train/underground station?
11. Are there any shops near there? What shops?
-What underground line are you on? e.g. Northern, Central?
-What buses run in your area?
12. Who countersigned your application?
-How did you meet them?
13. What do you remember about your naturalisation ceremony? - did anything stand out to you?
-Who lead the ceremony? do you recall their names? male or female?
-Where did the ceremony take place?
-How did you travel to the ceremony?
-When was your ceremony?
14. What documents did you send in support of your passport applications? (I said passport and naturalisation certificate)
15. Place sign your signature on the machine

That was it, he was very quick though but lots of questions.

I think your date is 02/10/14 rather than 02/1/2014 That would be one hell of a long wait

Hello

That is true, take my case where myself and my wife applied and my wife got letter from passport office requesting for ILR.

Our application are still in progress, We applied through check and send on 15/09/2014. But, I highly doubt that the reason they asked for my wife is since she changed her name during the passport application via deed poll. So, all her passports, naturalization refer to old name. Maybe for additional checks. Fingers crossed, waiting!

Itiswell:
You don't need to send your ILR card with your application.
Check the guidance they provide with application forms - there's a table indicating which documents to enclose with the various application types.

Hi,

We did talk to the examiner at the passport and for some checks they asked if ILR can be sent to them for my wife.

Don't know why they are asking even after getting Naturalization.

Hi

We called up today and they mentioned to send the passport which was originally used to enter into UK as they want to find the date of entry.

We told that we had already sent the uncancelled passports and they said they will talk to examiner again/

We are very much confused why they need the date of entry ones. I asked whether there is any issue with my application and they mentioned that since it is linked to my wife, they could not process until this one is sorted. In my case, i had sent my new indian passport and the date of entry is in my old indian passport which they did not ask.

I don't know why they are so confused and they don't connect directly to the examiner.

Received Letter from HM Passport for my wife asking to contact them as soon as possible as they were unable to contact us.

Has anybody received letter like this? Is this regarding some clarification?

Many thanks for the brilliant work you guys are doing here.
Please I need your advice; I applied for Passport on the 18th of this month(Sept) through PO Check & Send. Last weekend I got a letter from Passport Office saying my application could not continue as there was NO DATE on my Naturalization Certificate. I have contacted the council where I did private ceremony and they admitted it was mistake on their part for not typing in the date of naturalization in the certificate before handing it over to me on the day of my ceremony. They have asked me to come back with the original certificate to have the date typed in there. But the problem is that Passport Office did not enclose this certificate in the letter they sent me. They only said I should send a replacement document. I don't know what to do about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

A friend of mine had the same issue. He was given his certificate back so he took it to council and they corrected it. He applied again and got his passport already. I would speak to passport office again and tell them that council is going to correct the mistake so they should give you the certificate back.
