Well done man4uni.
Applied on 10th April, Received on the 11th. Still nothing, no interview letter, documents returned, and I cant talk directly to the people who know where my things are, just the advice line, who say they will arrange a phonecall from the passport office, but no calls are received. Annoyed

so..... its been 8 Weeks Since my application now and exactly 4 weeks since my interview, But still have yet to receive the passport! unfortunately I have a trip booked for Saturday which I will now have to lose the money for south of £900. I spoke with the Durham office 1 week ago and was told you should get it in 5 days, if not give us a call back, 5 days today I called em back was told We ll refer back to the examiner as we dont know why its taking this long but we ll get back to you unfortunately there is no time frame. So I can only laugh about it.. not fuzzed anymore i ll just wait it out now.. even though it is ridiculous.

Yes, I did pay £3 for special delivery. I believe PO send your application by special next day delivery isn't it ?

And you really know details like which date your grandparents were married!!

I never did and you don't have to provide grandparents details if you are naturalized...just give your parents details and that will be enough! See Page 12 of Guidance notes.

I went for my interview yesterday and I have not received any text so far to say that my passport is printing.... Does every applicant receive this text when HMPO will do the printing of the passport?iam still awaiting for my documents to be sendback to me...I call today but the lady I spoke to,said that my application still under examining... I need my old passport urgently and I'm waiting for HMPO to call me back.how long does it take before documents come back...?

I too had my interview on Thursday, but I haven't recieved any follow up text. I called up HMPO and they said it hasn't been printed yet. Not sure what's happening since most passports are printed on the day of the interview. Hope it's not because I got irritated at all those intrusive questions which were totally unrelated to the application. The interviewer said I'll hear from them in 10 days, so I can only wait!

Did you receive your supporting documents back? I got my supporting docs back but no sign of the letter. When I called the 0300 number the person did agree that it was strange that I did not receive the letter yet. Am trying to find the peterborough office number so maybe I can get in touch with them directly..

Call the HMPO advise number to check the status. They are really polite and helpful, if the person on the phone can't help you, they will set a callback within 48 hrs.

Do they actually call back? I have still not received any letter from them so I called today on the 0300 222 0000 number and was told they will call back. Is there is direct number for the Peterborough office since the person on the phone did mention that it looked like my application was sent to that office.

In the event that the letter was lost in the post, what happens then? I need to travel fairly soon and am concerned. Any suggestions are welcome. Many thanks.

You just need to take letter informing you about the interview.

I took my original letter and the confirmation letter arrived after I came back from the interview. They both have the same reference number.

Lengthy and frustrating experience - seems that child passports may be taking a while at the moment from my experience and that of friends and also colleagues. Multiple calls chasing hit a brick wall - promised callbacks from HMPO that never materialized. In end escalated and ended up getting the Passport very shortly after. Should point out our application was straightforward - I am a British citizen by birth and our baby was born in the UK.

BUT - Supporting documents not yet received back yet. Was concerned so phoned Adviceline again to chase - after you press the button to speak with an operator there is a pre-recorded message (that wasn't there last week) advising it can take up to 2 weeks at the moment following passport receipt to receive supporting documents.

All is not well at HMPO it would seem - at least for child applicants.
