I have done my Biometric enrollment on the 2nd of Nov 2015 and still havent got my Naturalisation certificate. Any idea how long it takes to get the letter after the biometric enrolement

Yes you can, just make sure you have done your biometric enrolment and have someone to keep an eye on the post

2) can I come back when I get the approval letter? how long would it take to make an appointment to have the ceremony?
Yes assuming you will have someone to keep an eye on the post, once you have received the approval letter you will have 21 days to book the ceremony. The ceremony varies from boroughs to boroughs, however, you can also go for private ceremony which will be additional cost.

3) can I go back and apply for passport from a different country? if not how long would it take since ceremony, passport application, to get the passport?.
Yes you can apply passport from different country see Overseas British Passport (click)
Currently the average passport processing timeline is 2-3 weeks if applying from within UK

Application history, 2 applicants (me and wife):

Date of application: 23rd June 2015 via NCS
Payment method: Credit card

Quite frustrating as Its been around 23 weeks (over 5 months) since I made the application and I can confirm during the time since application date I did not receive any letter requesting for more information.
Straight forward case, 5 years Tier 1 Gen + 1 year ILR.

Have sent an email to NationalitySupportTeamFMT@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk last week, no response yet.
Any more June updates please ??

Problem is that we are actually travelling in Jan for 4 weeks and if I receive the letter during that time I will miss the 21 days deadline to contact the council for ceremony.....any advice would be much appreciated ?

Annoyingly, the acknowledgement letter was sent to a wrong address (another door downstairs). Luckily the postman knew us and delivered it the the right pigeon hole. Have emailed and written to HO asking them to correct the address, but hard to know whether they will do so and how long this will take.

Hello I received invitation letters from local council for our citizenship ceremony today (which says they have been informed by HO that our applications have been approved), though the HO approval letters have not arrived yet. I thought that was automated letter from HO about exceptional circumstances and complicated issues based upon my silent observation. Fortunately, that wasn't the case

Can anyone comment if their referee's have been contacted at all in their process to date? I've got one referee in Manchester and one here in Canada. If they were contacted, is anyone able to say when they called, ie how far into the process?? As far as I know neither have been contacted.

My application was received almost 2 months ago.

The citizenship ceremony feee was charged to my credit card a few days after the application was officially received and processed at the Home Office. I've read the citizenship ceremony fee is non-refundable.

Biometrics were provided as soon as I could get into the VFS Global office in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (as I've mentioned in previous posts) as of Nov 3 / 2015. Mine is a UKM application because my mother was still a BC when i was born in Canada (which was well before 1983)

I provided all of my mothers documents including her prior British passport, birth certificate etc as well as all the documents pertaining to me. If anyone has any insight on the timeline from providing biometrics to getting approval for UKM applications made outside the UK please reply. Thanks.
