Normal the acknowledgement letter is the same letter that asks you to go and do your biometric within 14days. I am supprised yours does not.

(for my spouse)

Eligibility Criteria: ILR, Spouse of BC
Language Criteria: Majority English speaking country

Method of Application: NCS; 28 August
Date Received by UKVI: 1 September
Biometrics Completed: 18 September

Approval Letter: 11 December; Received 22 December

It seems there are delays in the council receiving the information from the HO, so hopefully a ceremony can be arranged for my spouse in the next day or two if they receive it before Christmas.

Has anyone been contacted by email by a caseworker. I was asked to provide a scanned copy of a document. I obtained the document and emailed it back to the generic email address as per the request on December 17th. So far no reply. All I'd like is an acknowledgement that the document I scanned was sufficient and the case worker received it. Does the HO slow down in the last couple of weeks in December? It seems that could be the reason for the delay if many people are taking holidays for Christmas. Just curious if anyone else has been asked to provide information via email in the same way as myself and then experienced a delay in being acknowledged. I understand they're busy and all and don't ask out of frustration. Just want to find out if this is fairly common and not out of the norm. Thanks for anyone who can let me know. Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

Hi All,

I had submitted naturalisation application for myself in 23-11-2015. I have received a letter from HO today stating my payment declined. Not sure, why this as happened as used the same during my ILR. I called my bank and they said it happened because of incorrect 3 digit of security cod on my back debit card !!

I am now filling the payment slip to send it back to them. Appreciate if someone can guide me on following :-

1. Do I have to provide credit or debit card information? Which one is advisable?
2. Do I need to send the payment slip to Liverpool (L20QN) office?
3. Assume I have to provide the HO reference letter as advised in decline letter from home office. Kindly suggest.
4. Apart from payment slip, are there any alternate approach to pay this amount? Which one is nice to follow?
5. How long will it take to deduct the money from account? What will be overall delay for processing?

1) You can choose either option. But also have the option of paying by cheque. The latter may take longer, but with less chance of errors occurring due to HO staff incorrectly typing in the card details when attempting to take payment - that be what happened in the first instance, unless you perhaps made a typo error when filling in the security code on the form.
2) I believe it would be the same address, to which the application was sent. But do refer to the letter you were sent to see whether they have mentioned an address. There is another November applicant whose payment failed - http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... l#p1279604
http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... l#p1275575
3) Yes, do include the reference number and cover note, so that the HO know which application the payment is for.
4) None that I'm aware of. Alternate method of payment would be via cheque.
5) It depends on how busy the HO are, it's likely that there will be delays due to the upcoming holiday period.

Congrats Janusz!

I'm in the same boat. Over 6 years EEA, no PR. Applied in July and still waiting. Your timeline is another proof that HO take full 6 months to make a decision on EEA applications. That gives me hope that I should be receiving an envelope late January / early February.

Good luck to all still waiting!

Hey guys,

I've just received an acknowledgment letter (applied for BC) alongside a biometrics request letter through the post.

The envelope is addressed to my married name.

However, everything else has my maiden name all over it, including the biometrics letter.

I applied under my new name, to which I also provided a new passport with already changed surname!

Why would they issue these letters on my maiden name since I'm no longer known by that?

Confused.com. Can someone please enlighten me?

Hope you have a lovely evening!

Many thanks

I have been a silent reader on this forum - many thanks to everyone posting here.
As stated above I have applied for naturalisation without obtaing a Permanent Residence
document beforehand - now the rules are changed and PR document is mandatory.
I have also registered as a member of A8 country for WRS and remained with the first
employer for over a year, therefore there was no need to reapply.
I have not received acknowledgment letter at all.
What is worth mentioning is the fact my biometric enrolment letter arrived after
4.5 months from my application date, so please be patient with your application.

Do not forget to update Google Docs Spreadsheet and Good Luck to everyone!

Can I please ask a question regarding my BC.

My EU Residence Card expired 03 March 2015

PR issued on 06 October 2015....

Does it mean I can apply for British Citizenship from 03 March 2016

Or from 06 October 2016 ?

Thank you
