I have my ceremony next Wednesday and would like to apply for passport right after.
I noticed that not many people do Online Application. Is there a reason for that? I think that online application make things easier for me and the passport office (regarding fee payment and electronic input). Won't online application make things faster?
What are your thoughts?

My application date is same as nmm, uknotts and TTOE and they probably sent to Durham office, I haven't received any letter or child passport until today (may be the south of England is too far to reach to )

I sent mine to Peterborough mate.

Cheers mate. I dont think I had a choice when using Check and send service to post to Peterborough office, shame. Finally got my interview letter today but my wife hasn't recevied yet

If any one can guide
As per majority timeline when we get interview letter - within couple of days we get our documents back as well. I have appointment on Friday 28/03/14 and I am travelling on 6/4/14. I got my interview letter dated 16/03/14 and received on 18/03/14. I have no issue if we do not get British passport from HMPO in time. But I am very concerned about to get our current Indian passport back asap. I called today HMPO customer advice line and they are saying they will held documents until interview and after interview it can take 7-10 days to get my documents back.
Is there any way I can collect personally from Peterborough office who is handling my application (my naturalisation certi and Indian passport). If yes then please advice how and which number or contact I need to speak with.
Any input much appreciated.

I think you will get your both passports back before travelling.
Normally after interview they post your passport in 2/3 working days.

Did some research in this forum, for those who sent application to Durham office, they waited more than 3 weeks to get a interview letter in average. So sad I sent mine there. I think probably should avoid that office for future applicants. I am still waiting for anything from Durham. Sad.

Your passport should come in tomorrow, I would recommend calling DX and finding out where it is tomorrow . I did the same the second day after interview, and they were able to provide me tracking numbers for my passports. They did arrive on the second day after the interview BTW.

There number is on say no to 0870 site, so calls are free too.

What's the chance of DX delivering on a Saturday, my interview is on a Thursday as well. Saturday runs will be very nice

Had my passport interview yesterday at Luton. The questions were pretty straight forward. Questions like when did I come to UK and how was the experience, where did I land when I first came to UK, my full name, contact details, phone number, company I worked for, why did I move out from the first place of landing etc. The interview was for 15 minutes.

Now waiting for the passport to arrive...

Good question tobeukcitizen. The reason I am planning to go for PIO is:

The HCI website mentions estimated processing times as 2-4 weeks, and 4-6 weeks in exceptional cases. This is confirmed by various timelines on the forum. Also, I do not know for sure, but again from the forum it looks like in the case of PIO they stamp a date for you, when you can expect to get your PIO card. This is very important and this helps me plan my trip better.

OCI on the other hand the website says within 6 weeks, but in the past I have seen this go upto 2-3 months.

I have to travel to India urgently as my mother is not doing too well, so I am trying to get the quickest visa possible to get there. I am going to be working from India for my UK company for sometime, so I cannot opt for a visit visa (IMO working on a visit visa is bordering on illegal).

Lastly, PIO->OCI is quite cheap, so not loads of money lost in the process.
