Both approval and citizenship ceremony invitiation came over email. I'm mentioning this as it was confusing not knowing if they will come as post letters or over email.
The approval email came after the ceremony invitation email. Citizenship approval email came from Home Office Atlas (gov.uk) with the email subject "Application Update", while the ceremony invitation email came from the city council citizenship ceremonies email (gov.uk).

Wanted to share this especially to show that sometimes the registrar notifies you of your ceremony before you get the formal approval from the Home Office (see dates above). Additionally, I submitted via UKVCAS in person as used their document scanning service, I never received an email from UKVI acknowledging that my application was received, only an email from UKVCAS confirming it had been submitted on the day of my appointment. The woman helping me at the appointment said I should also get a notification from UKVI a week later, but I didn't. Just wanted to share this detail as well in case it's helpful for people.
