Hey guys just looking for an advice on return of documents - still didn't get my other passport back and ILR - rang HMPO today and they said they usually keep documents for an interview appointment. Would appreciate any experience on that as from the timelines it looks like docs usually returned alongside interview appt (+/- couple of days). I'm intending to book flights for end of April and getting nervous whether they've lost my docs. Am I a panicking too much?

Interview process is no different to the other posts, generic questions, some i knew, some i didn't, I was a little worried about whether they'd rejected me based on a couple of questions i didn't know; but it seems they work off how confident and comfortable you are at answering them.

What a milestone! Thank you to this forum for all the support and information, it's such an incredible resource when there's very little information on how the process actually works in reality.

I have a question. I had my interview today and I think I messed up. When I was asked about the date of my ceremony I gave the wrong date. And I mumbled some answers like my parents names. Plus I completely forgot about one of my bank accounts. Are these show stoppers? If so, what happens next? Do I have to repeat the whole thing? I am so worried after waiting so long I go and mess the last bit up.

By the way let me share my interview questions, may be useful to others:

Personal:
Name, DOB, place of birth, spelling of place of birth, spouse name, spouse DOB, parents names, parents DOB's, parents where do they live, Siblings names and where do they live. kids names, kids DOB's where do they live.

Finance related:
How many bank accounts, with whom, how long, my main bank account, no. of credit cards, any loans? any mortgages?,

Professional:
How long do I work with current company, address of company, how do I commute to job place?

Misc:
Who have given naturalisation certificate, How did I applied for passport (Check & send service), how much I paid for check and send service, Did I choose secure delivery, how much I paid for secure delivery, how did I reach to interview location, how long it took to reach there, what's my current landlord's name, my previous address, how big my house (2 bed or 3 bed), which card I used to pay for check & send service?

it was like conversation than an interview, they want to know how comfort and confident with your answers which you only know. for few questions they wont have any answers still they ask you to see how do you answer to them.

At the least, I expect local voters' register and credit / financial profile checks, the credit /financial profile check is not in the context of confirming your credit rating or credit behaviour/worthiness, it more to know more personal details about you, these will help them during you passport interview.

I sincerely think HMPO should move the interview booking process/system to an online platform, where individual applicant can book their appointment online. The system should list available date/office and grey out all fully booked days. Building a porter like this should not cost much, but hey hmmm what happens to the job of all the HMPO guys on the phone.

The online porter will give you a lot of flexibility, closest office to you and nearest available date anywhere across the UK. I remember one of my mates that had to go to Glasgow for his PEO during his ILR application, before you ask me from where, yes, he travelled from Basingstoke to Glasgow to get his ILR.

Online porter is the way to go wrt interview appointment booking!

No Probs! Will keep my fingers crossed for you I was just thinking - they say that initial process should take up to 6 weeks and then offer you an interview date in 6 weeks and it's already been 3! Can they do it this way at all?
