I've not been that lucky guys - want to book flights for the end of April and still no news about my documents.

I've applied with my husband who is originally British and had to renew his passport and seems like it takes longer to renew a passport than to issue a new one. Really fed up I have to say. Anyway timeline is as follows:

lendosing, don't worry, I too posted on 26th Feb and got the letter for interview on 13th march. The letter should be with you today or monday, fingers crossed.

Just a little note: I applied through Check and Send and it was absolutley fine. I know some of you have experienced issues with it, but mine seems to have gone smoothly so I wouldn't rule it out completely. God Speed to you all!

on the 24/2/14 received at letter dated 20/2/14 that I had only sent my short birth certificate rather than my full one, this then took 4 days to send off for the full certificate received 28/2/14, sent to passport office same day for guaranteed next day delivery being Monday.
on the 8/3/14 received a letter dated 5/3/14 that my mothers birth certificate was a copy which I had no knowledge of this being a copy, sent original 10/3/14.
received interview letter today (13/3/14) dated 11/3/14 phoned as soon as it arrived and have my interview date for Saturday. Such a long stressful process but glad it's almost over for my holiday on the 23/4/14

I went to the Reading office on 11.03.2014, the lady I had interview with was quite nice. She asked me how to get to the office, where I parked the car, my name, address, my parents name and age. I told her that I just moved the house about 4 weeks ago. She didn't have any questions about that. The purpose of the interview is just to ensure that the passport is issued to the right person. Nothing to worry about. Just answer honestly.

Just recd my passport half an hour ago...DX guy was about and didnt even ask for my signature...the door was open and he dropped on the floor..
well..i rang hmpo customer service yesterday and the guy said..its not been 3 weeks..so please wait and then was told to wait upto 6 weeks since its the first passport....and after convincing..he said.its sent for examination....i told him, i had my interview on the 11th and he said...his system was not updated...takes a few days to do so.. ...


any ways, today morning..i rang dx to check if there was something out for delivery..caused based on the timelines...it takes around 2-3 days after interview to receive the passport... .they asked for my post code and verified my details and said..there is something out for delivery today...thought as much ...would be the passport...

all in all...took less than 3 weeks from the time of application....lots a fone calls to follow up and finally its all sorted.. !
wouldnt say its the end of the immigration journey but would say...its a start of the new beginning

I have sent 2 child passport applications last week through Post Office Check & Send, which is proving to be useless.
I still need to send away another passport application for my 3rd child and I'm looking to sending this by post myself using Royal Mail Signed For.

Do I send this using the envelope that was provided with the passport application or use a different envelope? Also do I send it to the address that's printed on the provided passport envelope or can I send it to my local Passport office which would be Glasgow?

Its not really celebration time yet though as I am only half-way through my journey, still left:

Passport interview -> Passport receipt -> Current passport surrender for the family -> PIO application -> Entry Visa application (if required) -> OCI application from India for the family.

Lol. I feel you mate but you can boldly say you have gotten through the most difficult/hard bits. A step at a time, surely you will get through these steps in no time.

Give the Sheffield option a go, drive down today stay with Friends, if you have one over there or consider Premier Inn
