Your case is what we can call complicated. You applied asylum at the airport (which means the officer rejected entry to the UK), were detained and deported. You also had your spouse visa rejected and were granted on appeal which means there was some exceptional circumstances for the visa.

HO need time to go back and check if everything is in order because as mentioned hundreds of times on this forum, British Citizenship checks are not the same as ILR. So please be patient and hope for the best.

It's strange they did not even take your fees for 6 months. As for biometrics, you are not required to submit it, because this started to apply only to applicants after April 2015.

Sorry it's my mistake in typing. The date for debit clearance is 27/01/2015

Almost a week after application. Apologise

I was relaxed already. As you can see from my timeline, it took me 5 months so I'd say just stop worrying and let HO do their job.

And yeah, 11 years ago I never thought I'd still be here. But feels good to finally call UK my home :)

Hi All,

I've joined the boards to post up my experience to date,

Application Timeline :
Eligibility criteria: 22 Yrs - Right of Abode ( Father & Mother British Citizens )
Method of application: Sent Direct - Royal Mail Next Day Tracking
Date of receipt by UKBA: 01.10.2014
Date of debit of fees: 09.10.2014
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 16.02.2015
Date of receipt of approval: - Still Waiting
Date of Ceremony: Still Waiting

I received a letter from the HO on the 26th of March advising that I need to provide an acceptable English language qualification in order for my naturalisation application to proceed further. No mention of this on the AN form which I completed - sent off my life in the UK test results.

Subsequently, I undertook and completed the ESOL Entry 3 / B1 English 4th of April 2015 and sent this to them on the 13th of April.

To date I have not received any acknowledgement on the above or my application, would this be classed as normal given that I had to submitted additional documentation.

Thanks all

Its 10 years from the date of conviction. So, in the given case, the application can be made after 08 Oct 2017.

Explanation at the end of the letter from HO:
"Our records indicate that you worked in the UK without permission after being encountered by enforcement officer 08 October 2007. In view of this, the Secretary of State takes the view that you do not meet good character requirement for naturalization and your application has been refused."

I'm not disappointed about this decision as in my country is war for the moment, people from other country will understand me like Iraq, Livia, Palestine etcetera. Make sure your solicitor know what he doing as my wasn't competent.

Good luck to all.
