Naturalisation application processing timelines (only)

Today is 3 months for April applicants and not a single approval yet! We are going for a long wait

One is entitled to Naturalization based on the length of time spent post ILR. You are not required to earn to naturalize. Not sure why would you want to send additional stuff i.e rental agreement, council tax, payslips etc...

You need to enclose LIUK, English language requirement (either degree or language certificate), passports, brp, marriage certificate (if applied). I have not seen new requirement of 10 years work requirement, read guideline what evidence they have asked for.

1. all passports (current and past ones as well)
2. send all original certificates (take copy of Life in the UK as they keep the original - at least they kept mine)
3. as a proof of your residence yes p60 are good option or payslips if you don't have p60
4. council tax documents, rent letters etc everything to prove your residency and good character
5. P60 are always good option, I'm not sure about 10 years of the employment I only had to prove 6 years

God knows how long the application will take. Home Office takes as much time as they like most of the applications are dealt with within 6 months, all of us think that we have very straight forward applications and yet it takes 4-5 months, some quicker. I personally haven't seen any applications post introduction of biometrics but I could be wrong.

You have to treat this application as a completely separate one. It doesn't matter if you submitted biometrics or you certificates on previous occasions.

1.do i have to send all my previous passports with my application or just current?
2.DO i have to send life in the uk and my degrees with my application or no need for it coz i already sent it last year when apllied for ilr?
3.do i have to send my p60s?
4.what other documents i have to send with my application?
5th and abit worrying one why they asking about 10 year employmnt history?
how long it will take approx if apply on 30 july?

I haven't received any acknowledgment letter yet. I think you normally receive acknowledgment letter about 3 or 4 weeks later after the application date. I have started worrying.

Could you please confirm when they issue the biometric letter after application submission. Secondly if you fail to submit the biometric would they reject the application and dont refund the fees?

Is there any way to inform them that i am going out of country ?

I have a personal situation that I have to travel to Australia soon and be there for couple of months. We went on holiday to Australia and my wife had an accident. She is pregnant and with her condition she is living with my in laws as she is in safe hands during her pregnancy. But it is closer to the due dates and I want to travel to Australia. My plan is that I travel to Australia and will return to UK in six months’ time.

• Appreciate if you could advise whether I can request the ceremony to be conducted in UK high commission in Australia if I travel now.
• If I get the Naturalisation certificate from UK high commission in Australia, can I apply for my UK passport from there.

Scenario two.
• If I get my Naturalisation certificate before my travel , can I travel using my original non UK passport to Australia and can I apply for the UK passport from Australia when I land there.

Still waiting for them to take my money - it's been a month already

So today I found out why. I got a letter from HO, dated 25 June, saying the following:

Dear Mr Stoofie,

Re: Mr BillyBob Stoofie Azania 1 January 1970 [*]

I refer to your application for British citizenship.

The appropriate fee is £1005.00

The amount we have received is £0.00 Therefore we need a further £1005.00 in order to continue with your application.

This was followed by instructions for payment, and an attached payment slip.

I am utterly confused by this. I applied via NCS (Ealing), and my application included the payment slip on page 3 of fees leaflet - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... t_2015.pdf.

I know it was included, because the clerk at the NCS asked me if I wanted to double check the form before he shuffled it together with the other documents. I declined, because I had double checked it already, and had someone else check it for me just to be sure.

Two questions:

1. Has this happened to anyone? Any idea how/why?

2. Can I phone to make a payment? I'd like to get this done is quickly as possible.

Hey Lucky. You can simply walk-in to any Post Office which enrolls Biometrics and get it done the same day.
No need for any appointment. Just take your invitation letter, Debit card or cash. Unfortunately they do not take credit cards for Bio metrics.
