Indeed. About 10,000 apply each month, and on this board maybe only 20-30 people from each month report their progress. That's less than one percent.

This forum is only representing a fraction of all applicants. I was told that approval rate is rather quick at the moment. It really depends on other agencies involved. For example how they check the biometrics? Do they check them at all? Let's see ...
Applied: 02/06/2015
Fee deducted: 13/06/2015
Acknowledgement letter: 16/06/2015 (dated 13/06)
Biometrics: 16/06/2015
Approval: 28/11/2015

Don't know where you are looking but the most recent approval was received on 23rd June (http://www.immigrationboards.com/britis ... l#p1205531) and it was posted in this thread just a page ago.

There have been a few other ones as well.

I received mine 25 days after ack.. letter. If it's not been long since you applied for AN and received ack... recently i don't see any reason to worry.

Guys, I am really worried now. Called the contact centre at 03001232253 but the person I spoke to said he can't check my records, he don't have access! And he is saying nothing to worry, biometric letter can take up to 8 weeks which is totally wrong as other members have mentioned it happens almost immediately after receiving acknowledgement letter.

Is there a different number I can call to get more relevant information about my case or any other alternative available which senior members can suggest?

I'm not in the same situations, but others have been and what happens is they send you a letter after a few more weeks telling you that you failed to send your biometrics and please do so now. So don't worry too much - but yes definitely do try ring them up as others have suggested - best to cover all your bases.

NCS gave you wrong info. Bio-metrics for all applications made after 1st April 2015 is mandatory. You will soon receive a letter from Home Office confirming this.

Applied on 09 February and still waiting....
My friend applied on 26 February (with no straightforward immigration history) and received approval last week.
Applications are processed by the date order in which these are received: utterly bullshit!

What exactly was your friend's case/immigration history?

Possibly, but they don't appear to be going strictly in order. Some folks on here who applied in March have theirs completed already, while quite a few from January and February are still waiting. Similarly, I'm still waiting for my payment to be taken (HO received on 3 June) while quite a few people who applied after me had theirs taken already.
I imagine a caseworker gets a pile of applications to process - rather than picking one off at a time - and goes through that batch before moving onto the next. Slow/problem applications within that batch might slow down others within it as well. Also case workers go on holiday, have other work to do etc. Or simply some case workers might be more or less efficient (or diligent) than others. Applications probably go through multiple case workers - first one takes payments - goes into pile for someone else to pick up the actual consideration task. Who knows - maybe they have case workers assigned to various application types as different types might require different consideration (not just child vs adult, also EU vs 5 years vs 10 years vs 3 years/spouse etc).

I don't think any one has made it past the biometrics for anyone who applied since April. HO are still processing January/February applications.

To the user memebers, I think everyone here does understand your frustration, but it would be appreciated if you pay attention what language do you use. The topic of this time line only, not release your frustration. Hopefully HO will contact you soon, it might be that your application isn't as straight forward as you might think.
