I found this information from others so useful so am hoping my information of my experience will do the same for

Eligibility criteria:Was on work permit for 4years but applied for 10 years long residence after waiting 1 year after indefinite leave to remain was granted
Language criteria met - Life in the UK and from English Majority country
Method of application: Completed the application myself and used the nationality checking service so I didn't have to send my original documents
Date of application: 05 December 2014
Payment method: Debit card
Date of receipt by UKBA: 08/December/ 2014
Date of acknowledgment: 12/December/2014
Date of debit or clearance of fees: 09/December/2014
Date approval received:letter dated 24/April/2015 but received letter 2nd class post 28/April/2015
Date of ceremony: 22/May/2015 could been earlier but they redecoration hall, private ceremonies available but cost 100 so I went for public one

Hi Everyone,

I've applied on the 01st April 2015 using the March 2015 form. Am I supposed to enrol biometric as well. I know the form definitely had a section on that. I haven't received any letter to enrol yet. I've seen other people on the forum who applied 2nd or 3rd week of April has had the letter to enrol biometric. As one can expect the response that can be obtained from HO. "It's still within six months window, it can come anytime between now and six months". The guy did say I will need to enrol my biometrics, but was unhelpful enough not to check or mention whether one has been sent out yet. Really confused. I don't know if the people in charge of UKVI know how the employees handle or are they just helpless like the rest of us. I would appreciate any feedback from senior members. Would it help to email them (using the address on the guidance)?

Any application received HO till 6 April 2015 will be treated under old rules. you are safe.

Yeh you will be treated under old rules. They must have deducted the old fee( plz confirm) every time you call them you will get a different answer. You can try if you want. I applied on 1st April and my application through NCS was received on 2nd April. They have deducted the old fee and no biometric letter has been issued to me as well. So relax and enjoy the unavoidable.

Maybe the wrong place to post this but may encourage all those that are waiting since 2014. I applied on 4th july 2014. Initial process was bearable and appeared promising. On 6th Feb I received the 3 to 6 months wait letter then on 11th April I received a letter requesting for my original travel documents. I sent this with a self adressed envelope and had another month wait. I received my travel documents with a covering letter saying my application been successful. Today I came home to the brown envelope dated 12th May. 10 months wait but worth the while. . Good luck to everyone

What acknowledgement and approval dates mean from HO perspective?

HO will not send ur original documents back unless u request them to do so. If u want ur original documents back before the decision then u have to fill in ROD (return of document) online form and make sure where they ask "DO U WANT TO WITHDRAW UR APPLICATION" u must say no to it, then HO will return ur docs within 2 weeks of the request.

I can not express my feeling When I saw two brown envelops in the mail. Unfortunately both letters belongs to land lord one from driving authority and another was from hmrc. Again Wait................
